Has anyone used Penrite MC-4ST V Twin 100% PAO & Ester 20W-50 oil ? Its a bit difficult to get Syn3, Amsoil ,Mobil 1, so looking at purchasing something a bit more accessible to use. Thoughts ?

yes I've used it in the past and are waiting for it to go on sale at Supercheap for my second service on my FXLRS, just got some Belray primary oil and have on order Redline shockproof heavy for the gearbox

I've used penrite in my bikes and cars for a long time.
Currently using their MC 20w50 syn.
If you're a frequent oil changer like some ( less than 5k KMs )  I wouldn't hesitate to use their 20w50 mineral .

I used to use their diesel 20-60 for awhile, might sound odd but I hated the smell of the stuff so went back to the 20-60 racing full syn, they used to recommend that before they brought out the MC 20-50, they jumped on the Harley bandwagon.

I have been using this quite a wee while now. In my own bike AND all the bikes I service. Penrite 10W60. Motorcycle compatible.
Comes in 5 litre tubs (and bigger) the MC specific oils come in 4 litres and are often more expensive than 5 litres !
I get it in bulk, and have had 20 litre drums in the past when the price was right.

I have tried others, Redline 20w50HD (got too dear when the AUD dropped against the USD !)
Mobil 1 5w50, used it for years since the mid 90's, proved harder to get for a while.
Amsoil 20w50 , until the home based "distributor" moved on.

Penrite straight from Supercheap on special/sale/member days. Watch out for those specials, I can buy 60+ litres sometimes.

I use Penrite HPR5 5w40 in the family fleet of cars. Diesels and petrols, 4 cylinders and 8. Does Harley primary drives too !

That's the diesel one I've used, some Indy bike shops use it, the racing one is what penrite used to recommend for CVO bikes before they made the 20w50 MC stuff.

I have been using Penrite HPR Diesel 15 15W-50 for many years now. It says it is for modern light and heavy duty diesel and LPG engines. In the HD bible it says if you can't get the proper HD oil then go for a good quality diesel oil. I have also heard that a diesel oil copes with the higher temps better ?????
On my 1st trip across to WA it was fairly warm so I decided to use some Penrite 20W-60 (thicker oil for hot temps etc) and realised after a few days that my fuel consumption wasn't as good as normal. I changed the oil in Perth back to the 15W 50 and all was good for the rest of the trip.

I'm using the Penrite HPR 15 15-50 semi synthetic diesel oil in both the Sportster and both Victories. The label on the 10 litre drums used to say it was suitable for bike wet clutches, and that proved to be the case for the Vic's, 140,000 km on the bagger, so it's now in the gearbox/primary in the Sportster. Never was impressed with the HD semi synthetic Sportstrans oil after pitting the countershaft 3 gear at 40,000 kms and the replacement after another 40,000 kms. Only needing 1 oil for all the bikes simplifies things a bit. Used to use it in the tractor too.

If you see an oil thread , maybe don't read it and save yourself some stress .
I always like oil and tyre discussions 👍

As long as the specs are right there should be no issues really, yeah I don't like the smell of the diesel oil when it's hot, keep looking around for a dozer or something lol

I got used to the smell running an old 60 hp SAME tractor running an air cooled V4, separate barrels and heads, pulling a 5' slasher on 40° + days.
