Gidday Guys, thanks for the Kind words / Feedback ... Far Canal thanks for the info about 89 Springer, gives me some hope ... Lol.

Would have been interesting if I had kept her in the original condition ... but of course that wasn`t what I was going for at the time.

Still love riding her every now and again but as mentioned we use the 17 RGS the majority of times these days ... and as posted in another area I am currently considering getting into a Trike due to Hip, Knees, and Lower back issues ... but that is way early in the research phase at this point.

While I agree wholeheartedly that these things come with a Passion ... but they also come with a Wallet draining affliction and I don`t know if it`s the guy above or the one below who endowed me with such an affliction ... I just wish they would lay off me for awhile ... Lol.

Thanks again guys ... just a couple of pics of before and after ... Cheers.

Yes Benno, that was exactly the small detail that caught my eye.
I can't imagine that the seller would not be negotiable, otherwise he will need loads of patience.

His patience had better stretch a decade I'm thinking

And with just 1000km on the clock after all these years the engine may be a little fcuked as well.  Thats right up there with the jousting poles!

I'd be willing to take a chance on the engine. The bloke has obviously cared for the bike.
For half the price it might be a reasonable buy if you were really after that particular bike and wanted to ride it.
I don't get the "Garage Queen" bike mentality though.
If you can't or don't want to ride it because you are afraid to put patina or miles on it then why even have it?

Geez at 48 Grand for a stock 96 model that is way up there, I've seen Knuckles and Pans selling for cheaper than that price ... I know there is a large proportion of the Harley riding community that believes stock is best for resale, but as mentioned to the original poster { HD } there are also a lot of smarter people out there that depending on their riding styles and what they want to use the bike for it is always smarter to buy a bike that someone else { Me } have already spent large quantities of money on.

And I agree with Far Canal, I don`t quite understand why one would own a bike and not ride it ... Hence the reason for having this one up for sale as I am not riding it anywhere as much out here in a rural area as opposed to when I was living in the burbs.

I do wish I had kept all the original gear so any prospective buyers would have the choice of putting back to stock or keeping it as is, but the majority of the original gear is now gone ... still have a few bits and pieces but have to do a full inventory.

The above words are of course my opinion only ... but for a bike that has had over 46,000 bucks spent on it and only asking 27,000 {Negotiable} ... and again depending on what a buyer may want to use it for I reckon that is not bad value.

    Thanks guys.
