Leave stock.  Catch cans are used on blown motors to catch blowby oil.  Worked well on the Turbo FXR but a waste of time for NA riding.

i would imagine the catch cans would be to divert the engine breather hose from intake manifold into the catch can(outside)instead of into the combustion chamber I've wondered about this also

I’ve been debating and gathering information on this topic for a long time. Was wanting to do one but finally came to the conclusion after talk with people and Harley builders to leave it stock setup on an everyday street bike. It’s an over hype topic that DK customs definitely push. The breather system on newer Harleys work quite well. If it’s a top performance big build drag bike then probably need it

No point in worrying about a catch can on a stock bike.
If you have an engine that has had a bit of work done on it, it is worthwhile. If you do a bit of a search you can see some of the crap that ends up in a catch can, particularly in colder climates. I spend time and dollars on a good tune, not interested in putting that shit back into the combustion chamber. If you set your squish and run a good tune with the bypass your combustion chamber will be a lot cleaner than most.
