Aftermarket cam for a '22 Lowrider S 117

I'm currently looking into a new cam for my m8 117 and I really like the power curves of this Star-racing 30/30 cam, but I like the cyclerama 480 & 483 too, has anyone used these cams? https://rolliesspeedshop.com/dyno_charts/2018-114ci-softail-breakout-star-racing-30-30-cam-2/

Thanks John it looks like I have another cam option to consider, is the cam a bolt in only or do you need to upgrade valve springs? I can't find much info on it apart from this vid which sounds pretty mean- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8kRnLofKz4

It's a bolt in unit. I was set on the 483 (which is basically a stronger and better version of the 480 in nearly every way, same power curves) until the 485 came out late last year. The 485 pulls harder and doesn't give away torque. Now that I've seen a heap of dyno graphs with the same setup (injectors [a must], intake, etc) im confident its the one.

Peruse the Alpha Performance Facebook page, they post em up all the time.

just had a look on FB and a 2022 fatbob 114 is making 138hp and torque with around 135 ft/lbs with a CR485 cam and a 55mm inlet manifold including 5.5 injectors very impressive

after chatting with Fuel Moto USA(good to deal with) I have settled on the bolt in Woods WM8-22XE cam and the instillation kit- lifters, adjustable pushrods, cam bearing, 55mm inlet manifold and 5.5gr injectors and black pushrod covers with black lifter blocks - https://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-23898865-wood-performance-wm8-22xe-chain-drive-camshaft-with-pushrods-lifters-kit.html

Those guys love S&S stuff, they didn’t suggest replacing oem cuff bolts with S&S ?

no the S&S cam was not on my hit list but i am getting the lifter cuffs though, the Woods cam seems to make the most torque early and it will good to carry my 140kg fat ass lol, a good cam option for a tourer too -https://university.fuelmotousa.com/dyno-charts/

yes it did but after chatting with Fuel moto(big tuner and performance part supplier in the USA) they recommended the 22XE cam as most of my riding is in the 2000 - 4500rpm range. The cr485 does look the goods though but I'm happy with my decision (and it seems Fuel moto haven't yet tested the cr485 so had no info). just priced the job and was quoted 23hrs of labour does that seem right for a cam and intake/injector fitted with dyno tune? seems excessive to me but it's got to be done lol

23 hours, are they taking the piss? Or does that include the time the bike will be spent there overnight haha.

Yeah thats way off the mark! Someone is trying to screw him - without using Vasaline! I would pass on this shop and look for someone else somewhere because if they are trying to screw you on the price then lord knows what else they will do; or even the quality of the work.

Being extremely generous, I would say 6 hours for cam and intake install, and 3 - 4 hours for a dyno tune.

I can do a twin cam , cam change in around 1-2 hours not rushing .
