They have ALL been the same since the end of the 80's! The range is very very boring so no wonder Indian and the others are walking all over harley.

A bit harsh yes.... but for the past 10+ years the Harley line-up has been VERY boring.  The 500cc small bike is the best they have come up with I recon...lol.

Dunno, when they do sudden advances, they get ahead of their customers and sales are low. They have to wait for their older ones to die.
Think water-cooled high performance non 45° twins, which is a massive tech advance. V Rod, sold acceptably here but not well enough at home, now the Pan America, Sportster S and Nightster, these aren't boring bikes, but will they sell well?
A lot of their traditional customers still want new Harley's to look like they were made in the 50's, the more radical ones want them to look like 50's  build modified in the 70s. Makes it hard to get away from what's already been done.
Indian might be able to drag their customers along to the water cooled Power Plus motor (an ugly piece of metal compared to their air cooled) by making it pretty powerful and starting with it in a heavy bike but many Indian customers are conservative traditionalists too. The Victory and Indian shop rides out of Brisbane slowed down a bit in the mountains after the tassel and fringe brigade came on board. A couple of fast Vic owners and I started having people come up to us at the lunch stops and abusing us. We'd laugh.

Though for a few minutes that you were on that shop ride out of Namba a few weeks ago, a smoothly riden deep red Streetglide showed up in the mirrors. It would have been interesting, on the bike I took I would have been up on power/weight, down on cornering clearance. An..... interesting ride. I blew my budget before lunch, spending $1.60 when I should only have been spending 80 cents.

Mate, most of the time I putter down country roads listening to the birds singing in the trees, ride like the poor old pensioner I am, and doing my bit for the Oz environment by trying to run over cane toads.

Agree, but so are some of the big blocks!  Actually ugly is no accurate - boring and 'all look the same' would be a better description.  Walking through the Dealer last weekend was so uninspiring.  Thank god i have my Sporty project to colour up the world.

It polished up brilliant, but there is an issue with the Nickle bath in that its not working.  I am making a smaller version of the bath to test things out with.

I'm underwhelmed by the 2023 bikes, the lineup or the colours.
Nothing new at all, IMO the colours are all cack with the Heirloom red and cream looking like an indian ripoff.
Glad I got my gunship grey RG when I did.

I'd like to have seen just one of those concept drawings come to life.

It's the breakout that was about the only one of interest to me- along with the 117 donk they have a last put a decent sized tank(5 gallons) on it all this as a cost i would imagine

For a 1k more you get what would've cost you 10-15k on a current model (motor, Tank, chrome, wheels and couple of other little things)

LowRider ST Bags are also available as a full kit. $2700ish. Lot of yanks upset because Sportglide bags could only be bought by the individual peice for $3kUSD+. While people have ordered and are waiting for peices, the kit is now available for $1600usd or so😂

I do agree the breakout is a big improvement with the 5 gal tank.
