That's not too bad, I go through them on my Sportster every 15,000 kms, and sometimes down to 12,000 on my Victory bagger. Depends how I'm riding of course.
    Generally using Lyndall Gold.

Harley pads are filthy fuckers but they work as they should, replace em as you need to, way cheaper than replacing discs.

Hey Neale, do you mean the lifespan or the uneven wear?

    Neale,
Might be sticking pistons,,,, I would remove caliper,, remove pads,,,,give a good clean with soapy water using old tooth brush ,,, then brake cleaner....
When thats done,,, install old pads back in caliper,,,, put something between pads (narrower than rotor),,,,pump brake up,, (ie extend pistons),,,, clean pistons with brake cleaner with tooth brush ,,,,, pry pistons back using the old pads as leverage ,,,,, Install new brake pads of your choice ,,,,, Install caliper ,,,, pump up brake so all good,,,,,,check after rides to see that pads are not wearing on one side as in your picture .....

If that doesn't fix the problem,, your bikes fucked... Give me a ring and I'll give you a reasonable price for the bike....
    Good Luck.

Thanks for the kind offer mate….I think I will pass.
When I pushed the pistons back in I did it with my fingers. Didn’t need a clamp of any description to do it. That in itself makes me think I don’t have a shitty brake piston.
I will just have to wait and see how the new set wears and take it from there I guess.
    Thanks for the reply.

I can push my pistons back by hand though... keep the pressure balanced on each side of the piston and they go back in slowly.
