Decided to give the old 2001 Nightrain a service today. While at it I decided to inspect the cam tensioners to see how they are wearing. I fitted a SE camplate with the hydraulic tensioners when I purchased the bike because of the dodgy spring loaded tensioners. Was surprised to see that after 50,000km the shoes have almost no signs of wear, reckon I could get 100,000 out of them but will check again when I do another 20,000. May replace them anyway, just trying to decide which cams to replace the 211's at the moment. Overall I'm pleased with what I found, been running Penrite v-twin from day one and changing oil and filter every 5000km.

There is a lot of good to be said about 5000km oil and filter changes.  Been doing that to the sporty and she is still running strong at 125,000km
