Hi Ruck, the independents in the east seem to have all shut down in the lockdowns. Brian has reopened a new shop, but you'll need to travel to Wodonga though. He operates as EBT Performance Wodonga now. If you find one out this way put their name up. Cheers.

Or you could try C&C Cycles in Plunkett Rd Dandenong. There is another bike shop I've driven past a couple of times called Global Motorbikes in Hazel Road Dandenong. I've never been in or talked to them but there are always a few Harley's out the front.

Brian has moved on with his business EBT Performance Wodonga. In same position as you last September 2022,  I was looking for an independent mechanic I found EBT Performance Pakenham who are 21 Rawanne Close, Pakenham phone 5941 4017. I had a service plus some extra work done at a reasonable cost. Jeff Collins is the owner who dynos and Luke was the mechanic. Plenty of Harleys  in there. They are also on FB but without recent posts. My understanding was that Jeff purchased the business. I am hoping that he has not folded because the search will have to start again.

EBT Performance Pakenham no longer have a mechanic.  They only do dyno tunes. Called in yesterday and spoke with Jeff, so Ruck is correct. Luke, the mechanic left after I had been there for a service. The search goes on.

I wish Jeff would update all of his social media to provide the correct up to date information.

Star Cycle in Westall have a Harley mechanic, I believe.
However, ask for Russell, he is at front desk and also work in many Harley dealerships. Russell will let you know what work they do beyond servicing.
Another one to try is Sixty Degrees in Notting Hill. I have been there with my other bikes and seen Harleys there on occasion.

Hey kracker60, come on up to SE Qld, Farrows Customs in Nambour build bikes that do this:

I've seen bikies do that on stock bikes, you just got to want to.

And know how, or be prepared to spend the money on repairs to learn how.
Some great bikes do come out of his workshop though. It near great mountain road riding country,  so a lot of them are Dynas with a balanced mix of power, suspension and brakes.
Their shop rides do tend to be interesting.
And it's only a 2 day ride away from Melbourne.

Make sure the new battery is CR2032 and not CR2025. The 2032 is 3.2mm thick and the 2025 is 2.5mm thick and does not make a good contact. Also check the contact tabs and lift them a little bit with a small screwdriver or blade.

Do you have the workshop and electrical diagnostic manual's for your bike? They would tell you how to properly diagnose the issue, not all years and models are identical so it's best to use one that covers your model and year, you may be able to find electronic versions online, I prefer the books myself but I'm getting on a bit.
