I was tying down bags on my 2014 FXST just now. I sat on the bike and when I lifted it off the jiffy stand I could hear a "whir-whir-whir" noise from behind the air filter. After a couple of seconds it stopped. When I put the bike back down on the jiffy stand, the same thing happened - a "whir-whir-whir" noise from behind the air filter and after a couple of seconds it stopped. The ignition switch was OFF and I had the FOB in my pocket. I think I read somewhere that this is the IAC that makes the noise. It concerned me because if it kept adjusting while the bike is not working, I assume it will flatten the battery. Is it normal for this to happen?

Yes, that is the AIC as it has a small electric motor in it to raise and lower the valve.
It normally does it thing on startup but might also be triggered by the angle sensor.
If it starts and stops and is then quiet then all should be fine. (it may be doing a calibration)

Agree, wouldn't be to worried if it does stop after a while. My car does this when I use the remote to unlock or lock, even before I put the key into the ignition and I don't think it has an IAC. If it has it's hidden really well because I'll be damned if I can find it
