FOB and KEY

Gidday Blokes,
Is there anyway to determine, from ID information inside the Harley Davidson FOB for what model bike it is to suit ?
Problem is I have purchased a 2019 Model Road King Special from an auction, the bike does not seem to recognise the FOB that was supplied with the bike, plus the key that is attached to the FOB will not even look like fitting into the steering head lock; the insie diameter of barrel of the key is 0.009" smaller than the center portion of the lock. Any replies much appreciated.

The 2 fobs that come with the bike when new are both "coded" to that bike only.
If you lose a fob (quite common!) then the HD dealer has to use the dealer Digitech computer to allow both fobs to link to the ECM, the remaining "old/original" fob AND the newie at the same time. It is a process that takes a bit of time.
I had to do that with a US import that arrived in Oz in 2011 with only one fob. (So did most of them FFsake !)
Only 2 fobs can be allocated to any bike at any one time. The new fobs the dealers use have no "model" information internally, from 2007 onwards they are all the same no matter the model of bike.
I reckon you have been "fobbed off" (sorry!) with the keys for another bike that has passed thru the auction house.
When the bikes are sold as "non runners" it really is buyer beware.
I reckon you are up for a truck trip to the HD dealers and hopefully they can help out. Unlikely an Indy shop can help unless my information is old.

New Harleys come with only 1 Fob key these days, I don't mind as it gives a thief an extra chance to find the spare fob, putting the code in without isn't too bad if you know what it is

You may be in luck if you live in Melbourne.
Contact a bloke named Mariusz Herok on facebook and see if he can help you, otherwise the dealer is your only option.
