New Ultra Limited running rough

New Ultra Limited owner here. Question: the engine seems to run really rough, almost as though it's running on one cylinder, esp at idle which jumps between just under 1000rpm to maybe 1500. The vibration reminds me of a Briggs & Stratton with a bad carb!, its enough to make the whole bike jump at idle

I do have a 114 Fat Bob which is super smooth, as was the Slim I traded for the Ultra.

Does anyone know if this is normal? Will it smooth out? The throttle response at low revs is also really nasty. Hoping its just a case of running it in but I doubt it.

I took the bike out tonight and did 70Kms on it but the vibration is really bad, esp on deceleration, but honestly I'd say it feels like it's only running on one cylinder. It's not the EITMS system as it does it at speed and that's switched off. A laser on the pipes says both are running at the same temperature. It feels like it's way down on power compared to my Fat Bob which is basically standard.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm planning on doing first thing tomorrow morning. I just don't have the words to describe how rough it is. I couldn't "tour" down to the shops on that never mind across the country. Can't believe how slow it is as well, it's got no torque. Definitely a Friday afternoon build for sure.

High possibility of leaking plastic inlet manifold is my guess.

hi Lushy is this very common? I'm replacing mine anyway along with a cam tune etc on my FXLRS soonish (probably in the winter)

I have replaced 7 because we HAD to. One took a dump on the dyno with only 37kms on the clock. I was doing a job last Thursday and had advised the owner to swap out to an alloy manifold, while I was changing the cam/tuning. The plastic manifold had been leaking when I pulled it apart. I do not work on Harleys all day like a dealer, so to me that is a very high number, apart from "hearing about it" from others. BTW the guys 107 did 110+hp and 120ft lbs, pretty good i thought, runs sweet.
