Hey guys. Got a bit of an issue. My Showa forks were sitting for a while and I noticed there was a bit of corrosion on the top cap/adjuster for my 1200s forks. I was about to re-build them and clean them up and for some dumb reason I tried to free the adjuster knob on the top without giving it any WD or giving it a little tap or anything, just cranked it. I snapped the pin on the adjuster. Followed by wondering wtf I was thinking, I found the top cap adjuster is obsolete, can’t get one anywhere.

I want to replace both top caps but not sure what to use, or how to make it work. Can I just buy some adjustable pre-load caps and ditch the original setup? I basically want to replace the tops, and use them as standard forks instead of the fully adjustable system, as I can’t get the parts to make it original anymore.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure you know with the cartridge forks, they are not a simple preload adjuster.
This may not be a cheap fix.
A lot of Showa parts available, or can be manufactured .
Try contacting these guys. (showa parts distributor) :-
