Good day everyone, I want to replace my 2016 Fatboy Lo stock headlight with an ADR compliant LED, does anyone have any recommendations and better still, what to stay away from?
    Thank you in advance

How much money you wanna spend Muz? JW speaker adaptive looks the goods, about as dear as they get though.

Hi Grease Monkey, at this stage I am not concerned about the price, I am more worried about the conformance to the ADR, because of the Left Hand/Right Hand Traffic configurations. My research has shown that the Adaptive range are not ADR compliant because they are made for Left Hand Traffic (LHT), I.e. you drive on the right hand side and oncoming traffic is on your left hand side.
My bike currently has a LHT and the HD replacement for RHT is over AUD500…….and rather than spending that on an incandescent system I am think of the LED option.  I have been in contact with JW Speaker and their dealer network in Aus is fairly weak, and they do not show that any of the Adaptive lights are ADR compliant.
    Thank you

They make one for UK mate, compliant for us, harder to track down, better luck online than local network, it's something I'm going to get when I run out of these Narva H4 LED globes (which are not compliant).

Muzza, my apologies, I just looked again and came with the same stone wall, the adaptive headlight is now in its second generation and there is not one listed for us anymore, they still have a duel burn 8700 listed for our market but that's what Harley use, Cree, Chinese take off is cheaper, longevity for them I don't know.

Agree with the Truck-Lite, not cheap but are the real thing, did the 3 of them on my Road King, J&P cycles where I got mine.

I have had a Hog light for 8 or 9 years. Love it.

My situation is that I will be returning to WA from overseas with my bike, which thankfully is a 5HD, but in order to get compliance I will need the correct headlight, and I thought that rather than buy the standard incandescent that I would go for LED, but to get through compliance and the pits it would need to be ADR compliant.
I’m guessing I could maybe find a second hand Aussie oem headlight, use that for the compliance and pits then swop it out for a Hog LED, which I have to say seems to be the best value for money?
I’ll post an ad in the wanted to buy section and see what response I get.
Thank you everyone for your responses, much appreciated.

Muz, no experience with that Stedi round light, but my wife has one of their lightbars on her Amarok that fully meets her desire to have a "nuclear powered headlight that melts through the back of semis at 200m". My apologies to any offended truckies out there; sit down, have a nice cup of concrete and harden up a bit.
It's been one of those rare purchases that exceeds expectations.  Been on the ute for a year of country road driving, no problems.

Managed to get a new ADR compliant lens from Easyr. So that will get me through compliance and the pits. The hunt for the best LED headlight (fuck compliance) is on. I really like the JW adaptive……
