Gidday all ... apologies up front if this topic has been done before.

So doing a little research as to the benefits and downside to above mentioned shocks ... i am currently running Legends front and rear on my 17 RG Special ... 13-inch Revo A`s with Heavy Duty springs up back ... and the drop in Axio cartridge`s up front ... over stock these are unbelievably better, very happy with them ... but i might be going in a different direction bike wise in the coming months and as i have not tried these other brands i was hoping the Good people here may be able to clear up a few things .

So, first up the Harley SE Ohlins ... are they as good as the actual Ohlins or are they a cheap Ohlins with the Harley SE sticker put on them and how are they price wise.

The Wilbers with the self-levelling shock on one side and the big spring shock on other side ... do they actually work as advertised and is there a weight limit with them.

The real Ohlins, are these worth the money ... there seems to be a bucket load of adjustments which is fine for the full-on racer boys but i think would be a bit annoying for the average day to day rider.

And the Legend Arc`s with the reservoir ... are they that much better than the Revo A`s.

Of course, there are other brands out there like Fox and Progressive and others but am i wrong in thinking the 4 i have mentioned are more of the Top End of the market.

And lastly where do you guys sit with mixing up the front and rears ... for example is it wrong to put say Legends Arc on rear and Ohlins up front ... my understanding is the Majority of Handling improvements come from the front and the Majority of Comfort improvements comes from the rear.

Thanks for any feed-back guys ... Cheers.

I have had multiple Ohlins on various race bikes and loved them. Chose not to put them on my Hd as i personally feel they are overkill on my Street Glide. I have never tried Wilbers but note that Danny Hayes has just had it fitted to his bikes and raves about them. Ohlins are very good gear but again you need to know a bit about how the adjustments effect the shock performance.

Thanks for the reply Pauly ... i would love to have the money to try Ohlins on my next bike ... as mentioned i have the Legends front and rear on my 17 RG Special and love them but don`t have any ideas of different brands other than you tube vids .

Real interested about the Wilders but not sure about the one side spring and the other side self levelling setup plus not sure how they go with the top heavy type of rider with pillion and luggage .

Also keen to know if there is any difference between the Harly Branded SE / Ohlins and the Genuine Ohlins .

    Thanks again .

I wouldn't be concerned about the fact that damping is done via one leg and leveling is done by the other...dont forget that the axle is linking the two tubes anyway. Wilbers is a quality product.

It was always a worry when I had one damp leg.... harks back to a mis-spent youth.
