Dealership Satisfaction?

I have found Harley heaven here in Melbourne okay actually for 99% of the time. I use the Spares Dept a lot and even though its not the cheapest they can get the parts in for me at no charge + they know their stuff.
I did get some work done in one dealer - tyres etc and they messed it up! The Service Manager had the balls to try and blame me but he was quickly shut down when I called him a lot of names and demanded to speak to the Dealer Principle. Amazing what the threat of an escalation does to little wankers at times + I was more knowledgeable than he was on my bike so he stood little change of success. (this is definitely the exception to the rule though in my experiance)
For serious work (flywheels/boring etc) I'll go to a good Indy - BUT they are now far and few between as COVID killed them off. Its a good excuse for me to upskill now a days

I have found all of the dealers in the Sydney region to be pretty good with parts. They are often hamstrung by supply from the mothership but that is not their fault.
As per Tussuck I go to an Indy for all the serious work and have been going to them for about 20 years. They changed ownership about 3 or 4 yrs ago (owner retired / apprentice took over) but the the quality and workmanship has stayed at the same excellent level.

My local dealership experience has been pretty poor to be honest, between bike purchasing, parts, advice, it's all been a shambles.
After talking to other blokes, including those that work at other dealers, seems to be a link between who owns the dealership, and the level of service.
Big companies (*Holdings, if you will) that own multiple seem to be the worst.

I bought my first HD in 2014 from Morgan & Wacker (Team Moto) in Brisbane. The sales experience was fair enough. After 18 months I started to have a few issues with the bike that should've been covered by warranty, but neither M&W Brisbane nor Gold Coast HD wanted to know about it and left me high and dry (both owned by Team Moto by this stage). I should have stuck to my guns and challenged them harder on it but I just didn't want to waste the time or energy anymore, so I just ate the expense & swore I'd never give them another dollar again. They're now just a big company who couldn't give a rats ass about their customers and exist purely to pump bikes out the door by the numbers and be done with it.
This time around I've just purchased a Road Glide Special from Gasoline Alley in Brisbane and so far I couldn't be happier with the service. Every staff member I've dealt with there so far have been brilliant to deal with, absolute night-and-day between them and the other mob. 10/10 would easily recommend.

I have had a good purchasing experience from my local dealer, but as yet not needed to buy parts or interact with the service dept. as my bike is still newish
As a side note the dealer principal is an accredited HD Tech
On a general note it beggars believe to me that the work is not always first class as HD owners are much more enthusiastic about their rides and a complaint WILL be forthcoming if work is not up to standard.
Maybe there is no Technician shame these days when the Dealership principal starts asking questions
