Guessing that's why most people carry firearms in USA and have zero sense of humour..let me refresh your memory and powers of observation. The term used was "Child Bride".. not "Bride Child"! I have determined its your wife from this statement from you..  "Would be a bit hard leaving the day before I told her I was leaving - she might notice .... she's my wife :)"
Now get over yourself and read what people actually say not how you incorrectly interpret them.

A Child Bride is a term with negative connotations, and refers to a young girl in her early teens, sometimes younger, offered up by her family to an older adult male, to gain favour from the family of the male, sometimes for payment.
The practice is abhorrent to civilised society and the older male is seen as a predator.
Our resident 'total fuckin knob' is obviously ignorant of the meaning of the term and rather than sprouting righteous indignation and abusing wombat, should apologise.

Look. I don’t think you are being fair to pb.  If you want to be overly pedantic. It literally does mean a very young bride when the groom is older. Or an arranged marriage to a child in some cultures.

As a general Aussie throw away banter line, it’s always referred to a younger better looking “other half”
Like the man is punching above his weight.

When anyone refers to my wife as the child bride, I’m quite chuffed. She is always well dressed and made up. Wears stylish clothes. She does look a lot younger than me.

Without having ever seen her, pb has used that term to me about her without meaning offence.

I mean. I did get abused once when I took her out for her 21st birthday. People were calling me all sorts of awful names.
Really did spoil our 10th anniversary.

Don’t be so quick to draw offence fellas.

A good attempt at a whitewash steelo.
Wombat was not impressed and queried pb's comment.
Perhaps you better go back and have a look at pb's response.

Thank you Steelo its great to see you dont jump on the perpetually offended bandwagon and understood the context of the banter. Its a little like saying everyone from Tassie has two heads or not sure if their Dad is their brother, its nothing they haven't heard before or surely get offended by.....is it? People are so highly strung these days, move up to cane toad country and relax boys, its just banter.

I am not easily offended or perpetually offended, but I have a low tolerance for fukwits.
I have been around a bit, and come across a few fukwits in my life, but you take the cake.

I realise you use the term to describe your own wife; that just smacks of ego and chest thumping. Surprise! Surprise!
