Two Up Riding ...

    Tell them to punch you in the kidneys if they get scared, and not to bother yelling at you. That way you'll learn pretty quick.  Make sure you have a pillion seat and footpegs on the bike. Sissy bar or pillion backrest is a very good idea if you want them to come back for a second ride.
    Also  make sure the passenger is someone/something you'd like to have sex with after the ride, that will give you extra incentive to do the right things.

    A good seta and a sissy/pillion backrest will make a world of difference in their comfort to be on the back.  I had a pillion sleep on the back once on a long haul trip...wondered why her helmet kept tapping be in the back of the head. lol

    Mate, I have had my wife as a pillion for many years now and the one best thing I can say is this
    Keep it safe, stick to the speed limmit and just go slow. Remember this, 

    "The journey is the destination"

    And don't try to impress her by ripping through the gears, make sure she is comfortable and safe

    Rode right around Aus with a hornbag on the back the all the way and it was great, back in the 80's
    These days it is better if the femme fatale has her own bike
    Even better if you can ride faster to get away from her.

    Also be prepared for the extra weight during low speed manoeuvring such as U turns or backing into the kerb. Encourage them to stay sitting centrally at these times, not leaning out around you to look. Delicate question, are they heavier than you? If they are, be particularly careful at these times. Your existing trained skills will not be prepared for the extra weight and inertia. And finally, both enjoy yourselves.

    As for are they heavier than me - no idea but I'm guessing not - maybe I should ask???   Hmmm - maybe not  :)

    Well I try! But seriously, it's no good a pillion yelling at you, you're not gonna hear, so the punch in the kidneys is an effective way of them expressing their concern. And make sure you have a seat and footpegs? I've seen a woman sit on a cushion bungied to the back of WLA from Maleny to Maidenwell. Not only no seat or footpegs, no suspension either.
    It might have been love, but it didn't last to the return trip. 
    And the infamous something? Just trying not to offend in case something else had slipped into the + part of the salad and bacon while I wasn't paying attention.

    You don't have to let her see you making any necessary adjustments. Once you get it right, you can do it before the next ride.

    Not sure why were skirting around with this ....we've determined its his child bride so if he needs to adjust the preload for the ride do it night before do the ride and back it off the next day. Steve was spot on again.

    Dont worry too much about old mate pb.  He tries to be helpful but he is a total fuckin knob.
