No, not a walloper. Single seat rego in Qld is about 2/3 the price of dual seat rego, less 3rd party insurance. But they put a maximum seat length of 500mm for it, presumably so you're not tempted to throw on a passenger. Since I'm running 3 bikes, I keep the big comfortable tourer on full rego, and the other 2 on single seat, for the days my wife doesn't want to come with me. The Sporty has had the pillion section of the seat cushion cut out with a bread knife and taped over. I'm a bit of a hillbilly tightarse.
