It's getting closer. Will have to find my punches and skiving knives in the container, buy some leather and foam, still a fair way off. Here's a Kong in use. Seen it done on a Ural, bloke was very happy with it.
    Love his Mickey Mouse fleece.

Some fiddling to-do no doubt, dogs nose will find Kong then you will have to explain yourself! take years to wear one out though.

Had a yarn with the pack, a quorum of them anyway. They reckoned they were OK with me taking the Kong, as long as I kept feeding them and didn't send them to Springfield.

Got serious about getting the next custom paint work underway...  They came out mint so will let dry for a few days and then clearcoat before the graphics get laid out!

Got the Screamin Chicken Ohlins on, hopefully give it a run this weekend and try and dial it in for the Phillip Island trip.

Is the rear externally adjustable John or seat off? What internals do the tubes have? Had a ride yet?

The rear rebound is under the seat (base of shock but I understand it's ballparked from factory), preload and compression adjustable externally. Front setup is ohlins too , again externally adjustable.

I've only taken it around the block but I'm impressed so far. Need to play around with the rear a little though!

Neat, I thought the stock set up on those bikes felt good, I bet that set up will dial right in.

Just ordered a set myself (SE Ohlin shocks) and are looking forward to a smoother road, I'm getting the dealer fit them they have fitted many and will get me close to the correct set-up and i will just fine tune them lol, I see there is 2 part numbers for the front forks -HD part- 45400355 or 45400356 does any one know the difference?

Half ya luck for the dealer to have the tools. The dealer here didnt so the suspension guru was the best choice. He ballparked it according to the manual and the front is very close. Id like to spend a bit of time really dialling the sags, but its close out the box. I do need to play around with the gear a little as I think i dialled a bit too much preload in, but the bike is very compliant.

Difference between the PN's is one is for USD forks and one if for normal forks.

Took the ST for a quick run on some back roads this arvo. The front feels very good as setup by the suspension guy, I have no need to actually tweak it. Sag seems bang on, its way more compliant over little bumps which was really my only complaint with stock suspension, it seemed to transmit those little bumps/corrugations through the bike. Thats gone with the new setup, while still maintaining firmness under brakes.

The rear was what I wanted to focus on, as it seemed pretty similar to stock straight out the box if im honest. I tweaked the preload as per instructions which helped, but still had same 'packing' type sensation where it transmitted a lot of those smaller bumps through the bike. I backed off the compression and reset where the manual suggested to start, big improvement in that department. I added a few more clicks, and found it kept the same level of compliance but it helped the wallowing sensation of soft compression when pushing it through the corners.

Overall very happy, but I didnt pay much for em. Its better than stock, but if its worth it is up to you. Ill keep tweaking just to see what happens and how it feels.

Good feedback John, as you say, retail price would have to be weighed up against the improvement over stock but improvement is there if you want it, sorting suspension to your own personal liking is one of my favourite things to do, so satisfying when you get it right 👍

Yes while the LRS suspension is pretty good out of the box, I'm basically looking to smooth the ride a bit as the roads in NZ are not great at the moment as the previous government didn't like spending money maintaining our roads and a little improvement in handling performance, I like the fact that the shocks are so adjustable with both damping and compression easily adjusted without removing anything, thanks for the feedback John, the shocks sound promising, the shocks are getting fitted next week
