Good for you - it works for me. Happy to be left in the past in this regard.

I bet they were not cheap John 😁

I had 5k of Harley vouchers so it didn't actually hit my wallet. The guys at Gasoline Alley also had easily the best price, which knocked hundreds off retail.

Whatever keeps you on the road :-)

I've got a minor version of that happening on my dyna - be a while before I catch you though.

I did the same but for about 2 years until I found someone who was good enough to do things right.  Nothing wrong with a duct tape seat....they are hard wearing and waterproof.

Dunno about that, but good enough to get by on.
Still mulling over a sprung saddle idea, reducing the need to strip enough stuff off to take it to my mates place, the Yam thumper MX frame maker to have bungs for spring bases and hinge welded on.
Reckon I can use a couple of small spherical joint rod ends bolted side by side through the tongue on the frame that locates the front of the current seat for the hinge, and try a Kong dog toy for the spring. The one my dogs have is red, but do you think that'll stop me stealing it while they're asleep?

It's getting closer. Will have to find my punches and skiving knives in the container, buy some leather and foam, still a fair way off. Here's a Kong in use. Seen it done on a Ural, bloke was very happy with it.
    Love his Mickey Mouse fleece.

Some fiddling to-do no doubt, dogs nose will find Kong then you will have to explain yourself! take years to wear one out though.

Had a yarn with the pack, a quorum of them anyway. They reckoned they were OK with me taking the Kong, as long as I kept feeding them and didn't send them to Springfield.
