Got back from hols and got stuck into the bar swap on the Low Rider ST. Pretty straight forward, bit tight on RHS/TBW internal bar wiring, but other then that, nil issues. Phone mount left to install then put it all back together.
Look's good John, I actually sat on a LRS at the dealers with 9.5" risers (thrashing supplies) and it felt close to perfect to me but very pricey with the speedo bracket and wire and cable extensions, while I was there I ordered for my forward controls a black shift rod(part number 33600318) lever and black shift rod(33600259) why this doesn't come with the original kit I don't know, the third pic is how the f/controls come
Yeah its not a cheap endeavour, risers, bars, grips, throttle tube, cable extensions, clutch extension, upper brake cable.
Very nice, and a good price too. Cables add a bit on top too but all doable.
yeap cables, wiring extensions and speedo bracket- https://rolliesspeedshop.com/shop/suspension/front-suspension-49mm/49mm-triple-trees-related/thrashin-supply-gauge-housing-relocation-kit-black-fits-low-rider-s-2022up/
Holy heck... thats a LOT of money for just bars and wires. Reminds me that i had better get up and finally finish my custom bars now that I have a small lathe to halp make round things.
Lol quote from the dealer came to $4k plus, I told them to shove it, I'm going to visit Worldclass bars in Hamilton as he's done several LRS for way less
I reckon you're still stuck in 80's/90's, both with paintjobs and the value of the dollar/inflation hahaha. Wait till you see what shops are charging for installation.
Good on ya tussuck. There's nothing worse than paying good money for a shit job.
Strange you say thats as it was the early 90's when I last took anything into a shop to do - I just kept finding VAST amounts of incompetency so started doing things in my shed with a service manual as my bible . I have done my own work in the shed for as long as I can remember - the only work I send out is cylinder honing etc. as that's a job for special tooling.
