I started using it on the last oil change.
I used to have trouble finding neutral from first gear but that doesn't happen any more.
    Another satisfied customer.

My missus hounds me about getting hearing aids, I have really bad tinnitus, it blocks heaps out, plus industrial and gun fire related hearing loss, triple whammy but man the cost of those suckers makes it a hard sell to me.

Removed the original tail light and number plate bracket in preparation for bobbing the mudguard and fitting the Streetbob one. Small 33 year old fasteners that have never been removed, but all came loose with some sprays of possum piss and patience. Still finding small bits of sand and gravel between bolted joints, from its 3 days underwater in the flooded creek.
Hope to have some pics tomorrow, after the Sawzall comes out.

Trying to smooth out the RG’sSEPST. Fuckme didn’t used to be that hard, when I used to drink. Given up the drink forever and tune is not falling into place. Maybe it never was…Anyway simpler task change oil and filter synthetic as every 5000 kms. Ski.

Have you checked for intake leaks Baloff ol mate? Spray around the intake seals etc? A little leak there will have you running in circles, if you lived nearby.......

Modern power tools, making it possible to do a crook job really quickly. 30 seconds later the back of the mudguard hit the ground. Fortunately I had enough assorted files to straighten and smooth the cut.
Oh no, it's no longer original, I cut it's value to some hypothetical future collector.
My weird sense of style said that the cut had to be radial to the axle, just like sissybars too.
Mocked it up, drilled some holes, found out that the mudguard wasn't straight after I gave it a hard time kicking and scraping dried blacksoil mud that was jamming the wheel out at Pilliga years ago. Ah well, the frame tube on the right hand side where it supports the guard isn't straight anymore either after cracking and being welded up crooked.
Got it all to fit, will wire it up and touch up the paint tomorrow.
It will be coming apart down the track for paint, after I fit a sprung solo seat, with the pivot tube and the spring mounts welded to the frame. I don't like the ones where the mount to a crappy bolt on cover.

And it would only take a few minutes!
I bought it when I was cleaning up my place at Obi Obi before selling it. A mate had dumped an old Toyota Crown ute with a Holden 202 and a Celica 5 speed gearbox in my paddock 20 years ago. 20 years of lantana, regrowth and a grassfire that torched the front half meant no one wanted it anymore. The original owner said he'd take it but it didn't happen, and it didn't happen, and it didn't happen. I dragged it to near the front gate with the tractor, took 2 goes because it snapped in half on the first go. I then picked up the saw for 50 bucks second hand, and cut it up into pieces small enough to fit in the back of the wifes ute.
Took 3 packets of 10 tpi metal cutting blades for the body, 2 packs of 5 tpi blades for suspension members, and a pack of diamond blades to go through the axle housings and axles. Had to run the saw off a portable generator, but in 2 days it was look mum, I shrunk the car.

Yeah they are a cool item to some, others hate em, but they definitely arent common. This one came from some trading.

Ive got a few genuine ones at the moment, 2 x FXRP and 1 x FXRD. They pop up occasionally but not all make it to public sale. I knocked back an opportunity to buy a brand new in packaging FXRP fairing + bags + tank recently. I bought a set of FXRP bags off a bloke who said he put his fairing out on the gutter for hard rubbish because he didnt think they were worth anything.

Getting closer to having the Sportster back up. The StreetBob tail light is on and properly wired up. Under the mudguards on my bikes is a pretty ugly environment, so there's lots of heatshrink, self amalgamating tape and corrugated tubing protecting the wiring and connectors. 3 wires on the lead on the light, only 2 wires on the bike, so the lights earth wire now has an eyelet on it and is secured to one of the lights mounting bolts. The earth is good, the mudguard is bolted to the frame in 4 places.
With the mudguard bobbed, the back wheel rolls straight out the back with the bike on the jack, which will make tyre changing easier.
Only thing holding it up now is that I discovered it needed new brake pads on the back wheel. A few phone calls and I found some in stock at BirdsBitz in Caboolture, went for a ride on one of the Vic's. Sometimes I think we get so hung up on the supposed convenience of online shopping that we loose sight of the reason for having the things, to take them for a ride.

    More Low Rider ST stuff.
Risers and pegs arrived from Canada today. Bar and some ancillaries coming from Sydney.

Measured and ordered all the cables needed except for speedo/instruments as they're all on backorder, which is annoying.

Wheels landed in Melb for machine/ceramic polishing.

HPi intake finally got sent out last night from America after a bit of a wait.

Oh and to top it off, the ST took out a bird on Sunday 😅 thankfully the fork leg took the brunt and not fairing or fender.

nice, what brand risers & size did you go for? as this is my next to do job, I have been looking at the Thrashing supplies options but they are pretty pricey with the cable extensions, speedo bracket etc, when are you doing the cam? I'm pretty wrapped how my LRS performs with the new cam/intake, although the Supertrapp exhaust is a little quiet for my liking

I went for the Original Garage Moto setup for a couple reasons. 1. As much as I like Thrashin, every dude is getting them done by the dealer under finance so theres a million thrashin setups. 2. Theres a cool phone holder setup you can bolt those risers that I got as well, mounts a quadlock above or below the dash which looks clean.

You're not wrong about the cables, I think it was $500 for the cables I ordered yesterday. Clutch extension, brake line, handlebar controls, TBW and instruments all needed.

Cam will be booked in once the intake arrives, assuming everything else is at the shop. Last I heard I think it was just the billet compensator ramp I was waiting for.

Yeah its a weird one that compensator. They are definitely failing on bikes, but it seems to be random as to whether it'll affect you or not.

I've read many stories of them failing and they span the whole range of riding. Some while thrashing, others while sitting on the highway just cruising. I read one that failed while he turned the bike off at a servo, and it wouldnt start again.

Yes HD will warranty it, but the carnage it can cause ranges from a rattling sound in the primary, to the compensator punching through the inner primary and transferring all that force through the crank. HD will replace your comp and primary, they won't be checking your runout and if it tweaked the crank though.
