Not denying either of you right in what you are saying my point was that they are two different tyres he is talking about, old Avon cobra and the new Avon cobra chrome.

You are right GM ...... I was comparing same tyres and different bikes.

While I'm at it ....... has anyone seen my reading glasses. I can't find them anywhere.  They are a silvery colour with black plastic bits that go over my ears.

As you all know, Avon tyres are quite a soft compound, I knew that and was happy with the first one getting 11k, because it instantly felt better going into corners at a good clip on a 21" wheel, compared to the previous Dunlop . When I put the chrome version on, it felt just as good as the old model, I was hoping for a 20% increase in wear from the new version, based on what I read about the changes they had made. Getting close to double is great, I was just wondering how much influence the Race Tech upgrades may have had on the longevity, they sure made a hell of a difference to the way the bike handles.
I run around 34psi in the chrome version, I used to run the older version @ around 32, but installing the race tech gear has allowed me to increase the pressure without rattling my teeth loose on the crappy Qld roads. I also invested in a good quality pressure gauge a couple of years back.

Yeah it’s tricky to know if suspension made much of a difference but no way nearly double tyre life/km’s. It would come down to the roads you have driven, the pressures being exact through the whole time. The weather and temperature you rode in and the long journeys versus short. Some many variables before suspension comes into play. But bottom line you found a great tyre with good mileage and performance you happy with Enjoy!!

    Cam (485 in this case)
    Pushrods
    Lifters
    Billet lifter cuff
    Cam bearing
    Injectors (I went 6.2s)
    55mm intake (SE)

Should be good to add 35ish hp

My FXLRS is at the shop now for cam, intake and tune, it's interesting you went with the 6.2g/s injectors John, I'm really looking forward to picking the bike up this arvo

Was on advice of the bloke who's going to tune it, but also seems pretty common. Stockies get maxxed out easily (they're the same size injectors as on a stock 103cu TC, and cammed M8s are generally putting out 120hp easily) and even 5.5s can get a good workout, so going up next size just keeps duty cycle down.

gee i hope the 5.5's work for me but according to Fuel Moto they should be good for up to 140+hp- https://university.fuelmotousa.com/article/choosing-the-right-fuel-injector-for-your-harley-davidson-milwaukee-8-or-twin-cam/ but I would always go with what your tuner recommends definitely

Yeah they'll be fine for sure, people have cams and have their stock injectors maxxed out and it's not much of an issue.  Its not like you're riding the bike with it pinned wide open all the time haha.

I was tempted to go TB but seems pretty expensive to upgrade. Would likely be better for that next step if i took it there (I.e, cubes, compression, TB).

I'll take it all day. Not like we're manufacturing here in Aus. Some part of the supply chain obviously needs a looking at.

Thats the place. Local HD dealership has em for $950 for the same model.

The CF helmets are awesome, fair bit lighter then normal ones, good comfort and wind protection. Not for everyone on HDs though, I get that.

That's going to be my next helmet!  Its perfect where I'm commuting daily in traffic and on a super cool looking bike that the helmet will just add to the awesomeness.  Lightweight will sure be a plus!  Are these sold locally in AU so I can go and size one up?
