Polishing the front forks as they are really corroded after 13 years of no love.  Coming up mint and bloody easy to do with the right gear!

took mine for a good ride this arvo up around Yea / Seymour following last weeks oil changes, new front pads & clutch adjustment. Some nice scenery & roads up that way.
Had a laugh when I stopped for a break and a Magpie went up to my bike and saw itself in the reflection on the primary cover.
It started talking to the reflection and then got annoyed and started pecking at it

Well the lower forks came up bloody mint; not that hard when you have the right tools for the job - would be a real bugger to do by hand I recon.  Now to apply some ceramic coat to protect them and get them ready for re-install once some new weather seals arrive (the old ones had rusted out on one side).

well, after yesterdays ride did a quick check over and noticed the Acorn Stud bolt on the belt guard disappeared - maybe that Magpie !
Anyhow, HD wanted $30 for one so went to bunnings and got a pack of 9 chrome 'dome/acorn nuts' plus a couple of stainless 5/16UNC bolts. Cut the bolt to length and loctited into the dome nut and presto, an acorn stud bolt.
all for the pricely sum of $4.60 with 8 acorns left over. FYI - the acorns are identical to the ones on your bikes
