Had my primary adjuster done at 63,000kms.

Now at 123,000 I decided to do it myself this time.
Sorta makes the stories about how shit the MoCo adjusters are, are wrong. Sorry I pulled it apart, it had plenty of life left.

The problem with the auto adjusters was not so much the shoe. There have been a few revisions. The earlier ones were not strong enough and some deformed under load, and then the teeth design was changed to prevent overtightening of the chain which loaded the bearings.

Fitted manual adjuster in my primary because of over tightening of the primary chain. Pain in the arse when it needs to be adjusted but have peace of mind knowing the primary is not running to tight.

Got the Legend REVO-A rear mono shock in the bike, need to wrench with all this rain at the moment in Brisbane.  Also had a mate bring his Yamaha Bolt around so I could replace the front fork seals, head bearings and change out the shocks for a Barons kit.  He is very happy to have no more death wobbles in the front end.

Productive weekend so far.  Though I think I have run out of things to do on the Fat Bob for a bit :-(

Polished the new sissy bar insert so it’s about ready for chrome.  Now to do the main bar to the same shine and then weld the two together .

My 2006 Dyna Wideglide had the first version of the primary chain auto adjuster, it actually bent in use, replaced it with the new(at the time) SE manual adjuster, lasted one ride to the top of the range, tried the mods that the USA folk suggested but it was just way too noisy, replaced it with the new updated stock adjuster, never a problem thereafter. Still have the stock one in my Slim, chain has been fine on the 3 occasions I've had the cover off. You can mod the stock one to make it fixed and with the spring still in use, a simple but challenging job haha.

Milestone day today as I got the front end finished.  Legend cartridges in the front forks, Killer Custom lower fork cover and fender installed after getting the fender back from paint.  This she is coming along nicely now.

The new stance with 3" lift in the forks.  On real difference in ride or handling and it nice to have some cornering clearance for once (its an 883 Low so has bugger all to none normally)

Nah I haven't, I'll do it at the same time as I do all the cam/injectors/manifold etc. Will probably do wheels and bars at the same time.

Nice Tussuck, nice. I can hear the old FXR Sport tubes in the shed talking to me now, wanting to be fitted. What's next, a call to Led Sled for their kickstart kit?

LOL.... No kick start as I'm too old to risk me knees - even a fake kicker would look wanky I recon.
    Next up are:
    1.  Chrome the rear sissy bar in the next couple of weeks - just waiting for the chemical tub to arrive from Bunnings
    2.  Current handle bars and the sissy bar mounts will be chromed next
    3.  New Handle bars are all welded and now need risers - which will have to wait for the lathe to be restored.
    4.  Paint the wheel spokes some colour - most likely black to offset the polishing
    5.  and then the bloody exhaust system.....
