I see Wilkinson has hired her own lawyers {Chrysanthou}at her own expense it was reported , If Lehrmann goes through with the case he will have to testify in his defense i would suspect that he didn.t count on her putting up a defense with her own money & would think the smartest move for him would be to withdraw from the case as he would be torn to shreds on the witness stand , A couple of questions i would like to know about this case
Why has he not sued Higgins for defamation ?
Who is paying his legal fees {not cheap i would think} does he also have a blind trust ?
Also a side note to this case is a high profile male who cannot be named because of Queensland law facing the Toowoomba Magistrates Court {in April i think} on charges of Sexual Assault
some very spicy times ahead for all those interested in this case

Gee this enquiry is showing how ego driven and biased the DPP was in trying to get a conviction. He mislead the judge, he refused to provide documents to defence even after subpoena , made reference to a political interference then conceded there was non. Blamed police for their "Lack of skills set".

Story I read was 11 of the jurors were set to convict him, the one that caused the mistrial didn't want to, one way to get your way I guess, also the other jurors knew nothing the illegal material he had that security person just happened to pick up!, I still think it's a case of sleazy nerd fucks unconscious drunk girl an got caught out, big no-no these days, even if you think she was up for it before she passed out.

Story I read early in the piece was the article related to statistics for false rape allegations. That was the line he was pushing.
The judge told them a number of times they were only to rely on evidence presented in the courtroom, so he was either dumb or smart ?

I think he deliberately did it and left it to be found knowing that would happen, although he may just be in the shit when it all washes out.

The matter of 11 jurors being "onside" was a proposition that the DPP repeated in the inquiry. Council assisting asked him how he was aware of that as the jurors never reached a decision. The DPP then conceded that he felt like there was only one reluctant juror but indeed had no knowledge of the number for or against. The inquiry has been very interesting indeed with the DPP stating a range of conspiracy theories,  having to acknowledge one by one that his current view differs to a view he once held. What's more interesting is his version of events regarding both timelines, correspondence and accounts of conversations being totally different to other barristers.

What's most interesting is the ignorance, bias, incompetence, and inappropriate conduct of the police.

Does anyone know why Brittany Higgins was given a multi million dollar settlement....i understand the term  "personal injury claim" has been used but as there's nothing proven how has it been determined that this has merit?

She ought to be going after the AFP too. Soon after handing over her mobile phone, selected contents mysteriously came into the possession of the media. I don't recall the Lehermann Inquiry addressing that fact.

Ms Higgins received a multi-million dollar payout for her personal injury claim against the Commonwealth over her treatment after her alleged rape, following mediation talks in December which lasted just one day.
