    Quote of the year.

"Please don't make me sound like a cheap, tabloid journalist, Mr Richardson," Wilkinson replied.

And she was a host of The Project and former editor of crap magazines. Hilarious, self awareness anyone? There's just nothing quite like the arrogance of TV journalists/presenters.

Its interesting that she feels aggrieved that her reputation may be tarnished yet cares little of anyone else's reputation.
It seems like regardless of the outcome of this case the whole matter has been referred to the NACC.

The NACC were already looking at AFP for suspected corruption in this case.

I can not even grasp the concept that a journalist of it's own volition could come up with  "the AFP officers were not trained in dealing with sexual assault victims and were the wrong people to take Higgins to". Was this the actual advice the journalist gave the person that came to her with their story  instead of the police in the first place? and did the journalist know a police training regime for a fact? and how could she know the Parliament house AFP personnel's training? i'm sure AFP briefs the press on all its functions.Not.

Police officers might not be explicitly trained in many things, but when something is criminal, i would expect that a sane person would go straight to an officer regardless of where they are and tell them what has occurred. That person will be immediately directed to an officer or department capable of processing and handling the accusation.

I'm sure if you have just been run off the road and crashed and feeling pretty fucked up, and have a description of the offender you would not mind telling your story to the lowest ranking ill trained officer that came along, they will get events rolling in more areas than you might think them capable of.

No, these days you'd contact The Project.

Jay dee if you have a chance watch the live feed of her giving evidence...it appears from her evidence that everyone else knew all the misleading or plain misrepresentations in the story aired. "Someone else was looking after that" seems to be used several times by her. Her claim of never hearing the word "Metadata" or understanding what it even was yesterday was put to bed by the disclosure of emails several years ago of her having several conversations regarding Metadata and its use.

The journalist gave their story, not the actual story.

My next guess would be that there will be a number of people that will be recalled to give more evidence once the lawyers have digested what has been given so far. If that is possible in this court?  Then we will see some fireworks.

Yes Hoody they can recall witnesses, but Lehermans team advised the judge today that they would not be doing so at the moment depending what other witnesses evidence is submitted.
They have abandoned their follow up regarding the secret audio with Higgins partner and her lawyer, claiming that the audio was inaudible at certain points and therefore could not be conclusive as to the exact words used.

So the bombshell secret recordings were a storm in a teacup ?
The Murdoch media transcribed plenty of the audio and got some mileage out of it, but it was obvious from Higgins' evidence that she had not been coached. There was nothing for Whybrow to find.

And now its shows what happens when egos clash....
Ms Higgins and her fiance David Sharaz have responded to Lisa Wilkinson’s claim that she did not regard Mr Sharaz as “a friend” when she first approached him over the rape allegation.
Justice Michael Lee grilled Ms Wilkinson on Friday about the nature of her relationship with Mr Sharaz and whether he was someone who should have been used as “a conduit” for questions to his partner.
Ms Wilkinson replied “no” when asked if they were friends in 2021.
“I had only ever met him once in my life,” she said.
Mr Sharaz, who is not a witness at the trial, appeared to respond to the blunt answer on Friday via his Instagram account.
“One thing I have learned over the last couple of years... is I use the terms ‘friend’ and ‘acquaintance’ interchangeably,” he said. “You would be shocked at how problematic this personal flaw has become.”
The post was accompanied by a sombre image of the couple’s beloved dog, Kingston, on a Gold Coast beach.
Mr Sharaz took to Instagram on Friday in apparent response to Wilkinson’s testimony.
Ms Higgins then reposted the Instagram story to her own account, which has 64,000 followers.
    “Dead,” she replied.

Well today the judge has started by requesting the details of a You tube channel from Google who has been ignoring repeated orders to remove hearing footage and pursue contempt of court charges against the poster.

This comes on the back of even staying at Lisa house and describing them as being "Wonderful"
"Brittany Higgins was staying at Lisa Wilkinson’s family home in Sydney within weeks of the story breaking and texted a Queensland MP revealing she was working “behind the scenes” on a Four Corners program.
The Federal Court has been told that in March 2021, around a month after rape allegations aired on The Project, she was also assisting the ABC’s flagship news and current affairs program.

And now its Linda Reynolds turn...Her lawyers wrote to Ms Higgins’ lawyer Leon Zwier on Tuesday signalling they plan to ask the Supreme Court of Western Australia for the freeze orders which restrain a party to a case from selling or moving assets while a legal action is still in process. Senator Reynolds — Ms Higgins’ former boss — is suing both Ms Higgins and her partner David Sharaz for defamation over social media posts on Twitter and Instagram.
Not sure how this can be enforced seeing Higgin's has already left Australia to live in France.

Yes GM she was quite frank with her evidence. Did watch some of the closing arguments today and was interesting to see how lawyers transition to politicians so easily. Its been a interesting case to watch.
