    G'Day... thanks for the ad.

My bike is a 2006 Dyna FXDCI. The first fuel injected bike I have owned. It came with the orange SEPT and I have the cables. The bike has K&N type SE heavy breather and custom slip on's with custom baffles and no o2 Sensors. The bike came to me with all these. The maps that came with the tuner are from the USA (obviously) and all the options are Screamin Eagle (another obviously).. so my problems are.. Aussie Fuel is not the same as US fuel, my exhaust is not SE, all the options bring the Air Fuel Ratio to 14.7 which is a bit lean for my liking. Now I know that there are plenty of Aussies out there who probably have a 'map' that would suit my situation and I was hoping to get a copy of their map to load as my base or comparison file... I am trying to teach myself how to use the tuner but I don't really get all of the 'American' terms used in the no Help files. If someone has a suggestion or can help I would really appreciate it.... thanks

14.7 is the ideal figure for cruising.  But the number varies a LOT between idle/cruise/accel/wot.
The more importnt figure are those in the normal running rpm range.
and if in doubt then take the bike to a tuner or install an autotune system.

14.7 is the stoichiometric value for the fuel we use, ie the theoretical ratio for a complete burn, it is used as the switch value for nb sensors in most harley tuning systems.
In practice 14.2 - 14.4 is an ideal AFR for cruise, usually achieved with a bias in the software.

The 2006 Australian Dynas did not have O2 sensors in the header pipes. First year of the 6 speed gearbox but only on Dynas.

The 2006 USA "domestic" Dynas did have O2 sensors as stock OEM. The first year. AND the first year of the 6 speed gearbox.

All Aussie bikes from 2007 did have 02 sensors and 96 cube 6 speed , came as a surprise even to the the HD dealers at the time.

I had a 2006 FXDI35 Anniversary 88 cube Dyna , and a 2007 FXSTC 96 cube Softail custom at the same time so was very familiar with the tuning similarites/differences.

I may have an MT6 tuning file to suit from my 2006 Dyna. Screaming Eagle hi flow with a K&N element , and Harleys own tapered straight thru muflers ( the last year of them !). That is NOT a Supertuner pro calibration but original SERT.

From memory , and it was a long time ago , I used a 2006 "Softail" tune as the base , and "ignored" the 6 speed trans.
Bike ran very well and the guy who I sold it to in 2009 ran it with the same tune for years. It did lunch the transmission years later , there were rolling changes done to the first Dyna six speeds under warranty recall. A HUGE job !

The failure was mechanical and nothing to do with my tune !

Where in Oz are you ?

I am on the Central Coast.... Central Coast Harley ran my numbers and told me it was a 96 cube with a 6 speed and hydraulic cam chain tensioners, it is wired for o2 sensors but they are not fitted. Supposedly a 'last run' that was exported here to fill late orders.
This is what they told Branko... of Branko Built Harley... so we pulled the timing/cam cone off and it does have Hydraulic tensioners.
It seems the FXDCI is a bit of a mush up 06/07 model that must have been the black sheep of the family... HD workshop manuals mention it but give very little info on the model. Every time I order parts I need to add a description or I can end up getting ones that don't fit..

The plot thickens maybe ? Could your bike be a 2006 built 2007 MODEL ? That would explain the 96 cubes most likely.
That next model year build can start from August of the "previous" year.

Aussie HD dealers used to piss off the O2 sensors on 2007's at first to fit power commander piggyback modules ALL THE TIME

If it is a 2006 MODEL it would have been an 88 cube/1450cc.
And yes the bike was a bit of an "orphan" with no 2 sensors but 6 speed and still 88 cubes.

    Softails were much easier ,
2006 was 5 speed and 88 cubes with no O2 sensors
2007 were 6 speed 96 cubes and stock O2 sensors

Would it not be just easier to install Wideband O2 sensors and be done with it?
Mind you that assumes the ECU has enough smarts to tweak things to get the AFR to move.
God I love my Thundermax with Autotune.... Its just plug and play and ride....

Love my bike but yeah... it is a bit of a loner... orphan is prolly a better description :). Each time that I have had the tank off I have forgotten to check the injectors to identify if they are 8 degrees or 25 degree spray pattern... I just cant see without removing the tank just for that. Plus people are telling me that it 'must' be an 88 with a tensioner upgrade.... so?? Cant be really 100% sure until I pull it to bits.... and it runs way too well for that.... seems to have more grunt than stock 88's and 96ers so I ain't tampering with the up and go part, I just want it to run a bit sweeter in traffic just putting along

i have a fxdl,'07 [ 10/06 ] 96 ci which i bought s/h.it had standard mufflers on it when i got it and it wasnt that lively on quick thottle, fitted a set of open slipons and the world changed a lot after about 3000-3200 rpm and pulls very strong after that,so i guess the internals,ie cams, are not standard and who knows what else...but it ran well so not worried, recently it developed a miss under load when in heavy rain, easy fix,a hole in front cylinder plug lead, now its running the best it has since i bought it....lead may have been leaking slightly before the rain day,any way to the point of all the whole story ,it has never been happy at low rpm [ 1500-1200 and lower ]close to idle.presuming a changed cam has made it a bit  " lumpy " ,but the new leads have eased this a bit as well.cruising at 100-110 km its as smooth as you would want and no vibes in the pegs. i have no idea what state of tune it is either...so i will be leaving " sleeping dogs lying" untill a problem arrives.sorry for the drawn out story

I had a 2006 FXDWGI mate, first up buy and fit the sensors, your bike is an 88" unless someone has either swapped the crank or pistons and barrels, don't worry about the Cal's being made in America as it means nothing, once you have the 02 sensors in you will need to flash a decent cal in to smart tune from.
You will need to download the old SE software to do it, HD no longer have it for downloading but it is available if you know where to look.
Can link you if you want.

sensor locations in the headers ?
If not put them in ( refer a couple of GM's old posts ) or buy a set of headers with them fitted, and check the depth.
And check for a cat in the pipes, not sure when they came in. My 09 had one, but some didn't.

Should be able to use the SEPT to check current cal in the ecm

My 06 and Lyndell's (RT's Missus) 06 both had the bungs in the headers, not ideal depth but you can trim them a bit for a better protrusion.

Yes the 2006 "Aussie" spec Dynas had bungs in the headers where the US bikes had the O2 sensors.

One, the rear, fell out of mine at 3 days old and landed on the crankcase/gearbox so I did not lose it. Gimme a start that !

    I said at the time " What's the fugg's that for ?"

On my own 2006 I had it running very well with still good cruising fuel consumption. Original SERT tune in that bike.

It was a 25 degree injector bike as it happens , and yes I had to find out. There was a chassis/VIN breakpoint from 8 to 25

thank you for responding... I do have the older software installed om my house PC and an early windows XP laptop that is to be a dedicated HD Tuning laptop... no other programs... I do have the first custom tune for the bike's first mods before I bought it several years ago.... I have changed the exhaust and air filter since then so it was never really a good fit. I dabbled with it just to make it rideable but it has never had a full tune. I am having trouble finding a Dyno operator that comes with any solid recommendations so, I am trying to learn how to do it myself.... I know more about mechanics than I do about computers so I am struggling a bit with the confidence to make any major changes until I have learned a bit more...... and ya cant learn if ya don't ask.... that is why I am here... thanks for your interest and assistance.... I am all ears... umm eyes.. :)
