Brought the seat ages back with the intention of trying it out as a comfy touring alternative to the Mustang seats I have.
Knew I had to make up a sissy bar set up to suit for mounting so watched eBay for awhile until an old narrow Softail unit came up, wasn't too worried about style or condition as I was going to chop it up to suit the slims close together mounting points and make it detachable.
One came up not so long back as a bid job so after a bit of umming and arrring I entered into a brief but fierce bidding war against an unknown entity that was not as determined as I.
Had a down day yesterday because of the weather so got the grinder out and attacked it. It's got a bit of surface rust etc but I was going to get it blasted and powder coated black anyway so that didn't bother me.
I was going to cut the pad area of the sissy bar down to suit the king/queen but my daughter (my main passenger) convinced me to leave it high just for a mock up trial run, still not convinced about how it looks but we took it for a spin today and she gives it the thumbs up.

Cut the sissy bar down to match just the King/Queen, haven't finalised the hold down bolt arrangement just yet, want to look sorta factory so bracket that's there won't be staying.

Looks compact and neat but the original set-up would have carried two slabs  ):

All done, if it suits I'll get the rack blasted and powder coated down the track.

I reckon the daughter is going to be pretty happy with that, good options to tie on stuff if your touring, looks good GM.

great job GM....have very fond memories of daughter (knee high to a grasshopper) on the back with swags riding to who knows where - so any improvement to keep them comfy and safe is bound to create many more for you as well :)

Just a funny update on the seat, put the Mustang touring passenger pad back on today because I had the wide tripper solo on, was just easier, took the daughter for an hour or so ride, was constantly fidgiting, moving around, generally being a pain, she had spent all previous trips until recently on the Mustang pad, never complained, pulled up at the pub, said righto what gives, apparently the Mustang pad is like sitting on a brick with a knife stuck in your arse cheek......cracked me up, 15 an all.
