Agree with you about better looks than the Sportster S. Pity about the smaller motor though. Can't see any mention of the suspension travel in the spec sheet.
When some arrive in Oz I might ride back to civilisation for a look; I'll have the high miler '90 Sporty back up by then.

I've seen pics of your old Sporty, thing looks great and has loads of character.  I'd hang onto it.  These new models look pretty decent, but none of them makes me want to trade my 1200C for one of them.  Having both would be nice.

Here's a video with a closer look.  Unlike the Sportster S, you can see the DNA of the Sportster in this new Nightster.  221kg kerb weight, nice.

yes that's looking better, the exhaust is still a bit ugly but better than the S, i imagine the screaming eagle big-bore kits will be coming for a price $$$

Harley's entry level bike at $24,000 yep that's going to have buyers flocking to the dealership's NOT. My opinion only but I see this bike as a flop at this price range and let's be honest here you can buy a brand new Indian Scout at least 3 grand cheaper with more HP and bigger motor. I was hoping this new Sportster would have come in around the 20 grand to compete with the Scout but once again Harley's corporate greed shows it's true colours.

Whether it's ugly or not is a matter of opinion.  But unlike the Sportster S, this bike clearly (and deliberately), has some visual similarities to the old Sportster:
    - Sportster style tank (even though it's not a tank)
    - Sportster side covers
    - Rear fender and struts
    - 41mm Forks and front wheel look very Sportster like.

Also, I've seen lots of ugly bikes, and even though I wouldn't buy this bike, I wouldn't call it ugly.

It looks more like a Sportster than  Yamaha Bolt or a Street 500 or 750.

So are you going to be buying or selling any classic Sportsters? I took a look online earlier today, Iron Head prices are already rising. Early Evo ones seem stable, rubber mount ones higher than I expected.

Evo Sporty with EFI/Carb is no prob so long as I can chop the heck out of it Im happy.
