Stainless exhaust systems are lighter, more durable and more expensive.
In the US, Burns have been making stainless exhausts for Harleys for quite a few years and are recognised as being the leader in the performance field.
HPI have been making performance parts for Harleys for a few years now and have also started producing stainless exhausts. They put a lot of R&D into their products, and their pipes have a good rep.

I'm still going to put a cam and dyno the 117 also once it arrives, I'm thinking of a S&S 475 cam this time though

Here's a FXLRS dyno run with the S&S 475 cam- https://rolliesspeedshop.com/dyno_charts/2022-117ci-softail-low-rider-s-ss-475-cam/ I'm not sure what cam to go with now at this stage I'm looking at the following- S&S 475, reaper 472, redshift 472, CR480 & CR483, I do realize that all dyno vary but the CR 483 seems to give out a lot more torque than the S&S cam

Check out Alpha Performance Engines in Gladstone. They seem to have a pretty good handle on the m8s.
They now have a CR485 to go with the CR480 and CR483.

Personally id be giving the SS475 a miss when there are much stronger and more accessible options out there.

Not sure when you'll be able to get em, they said it was only a single cam to begin with and test.

I'm just putting a list together for my FXLRS and this is my list for my stage 2 upgrade- S&S quickee adjustable kit with black covers, Feuling Hp+ tappets, Fueling OE+ camplate, Fueling inner cam bearing, black tappet covers, plus gaskets, S&S 55mm performance manifold and Fueling 5.3g/s fuel injectors this along with a CR480 or 483 cam and Cobra Eldorado 2-1 exhaust, does that seem ok?

Any particular reason for the cam plate? I noticed APE generally don't do them unless a customer wants to include it "just because"

Should add billet lifter cuffs too.

yeah no particular reason for the cam plate apart from the added strength and apparent slightly better oil flow but if it's not required I will leave it off and spend the coin elsewhere, I was thinking of doing an oil pump also but decided against it, yes i will get the S&S tappet cuffs also (forgot them on my list), HD are due to start assembling my bike next week with expected delivery late September to October, I have done the trade in deal and can do up to the 30 000k mark with speedo ready approx. 26 000k, I just don't really want to spend anymore money on it now- tyres service etc,

I'd speak to Ape.they have kits with cam, lifters, adjustable pushrods, lifter cuffs and have a good chat with them.if you plan to go further than just a cam you need to be wise with your cam choice otherwise you will pay twice.cam plate and pump not needed.although I hate dealing with companies like this that corner the market where you can't buy anything direct with cyclerama.shits me

Have any of you M8 owners found the need for the adjustable rocker? Seems like such a good idea in theory to even things out.

I never knew they existed I wasn't planning on taking the rocker cover's off, but they look like a good idea after I had a google- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG25VV4MByU  https://rolliesspeedshop.com/shop/engine/rocker-covers-rockers/ss-forged-roller-rocker-arm-kit-fits-milwaukee-eight-2017up/ I might do them later on after pricing them

I've ridden a few 107's and 114's, a couple were quiet up top and the others had varying degrees of clatter, they would all be within tolerance no doubt but if these sort it out I'd be doing it, they had them in the catalogue nearly as soon as the M8's came out which means the buggas knew it wasn't a perfect set up.

Funnily enough, when I first saw the m8 had 4 valves and I saw the rocker arm, my FIRST thought was "How the the hell do the lifters do their job if 1 rigid arm controls two separate valves?" I reckon it wouldn't be an issue till down the track, higher km motors where theyve had a chance to bed in differently.

On another note, a bloke on FB posted his Dyno graphs between the 480 CR, and the 483 with injectors, intake etc. It made way more power (obviously) but the thing that suprised was the shape of the dynographs where basically identical.

The 480 didnt pull earlier or taper of earlier etc, the shape was basically exactly the same as the 483 but less impressive.

Sealed the deal on the 483 for me.

Yeap the Cr483 is looking good to me also, i just had some bad news about my Cobra 2-1 apparently they don't make them anymore? I'm now looking at a Bassani road rage, a Freedom 2-1 2-step or what I'll probably go for which is a Super-Trap FatShot 2-1- https://rolliesspeedshop.com/shop/exhaust-systems-mufflers/exhaust-system-21/supertrapp-exhaust-fatshot-2-into-1-exhaust-black-fits-softail-2018up/
