I'll wait, if I really want one in a couple years I'll get a 2000k shed queen from somewhere, fly, buy ride it home but I'll ride one at the dealer first, if it's not light years better than the slim I don't reckon I will bother.

While I feel bad, I have been having a bit of a laugh on the ST Facebook page with nearly every single person carrying on about them being the 'first in line/first order' at their delearships, only for a  bunch of bikes to be randomly delivered and sold to people who have just walked into the show room. Those 'first in line' guys are still waiting to get a date for their bikes.

What I’ve read from the US is people who put down deposits are getting the call, they don’t get down that day it goes to someone else.. other thing that’s happening is the random pricing, they’re what 21,000US, dealers are asking 28000 for them, guys who ordered are being told ‘bike you ordered is now 28k, take it or leave it’

What I've been seeing is over their is dealers basically using the VIN assignment as the excuse, i.e, Dealer somehow gets one or two for the floor, first bloke in line see's the dealer advertise it and says WTF, I was supposed to be first?

Dealer than says that orders have VIN Assigned and this one isnt your one, sorry (or their order hasnt even been assigned a VIN yet).

Yeah the pricing in the US is a joke. I reckon on average they're paying the same or more than us here in AUS when converted over.

They have an MSRP price, harley then tacks on some additional charges (listed on the US website), like $500 and $600 I think?

Then after that, the dealer can add on whatever the fuck they want. $1500 set up fee, a $4000 'dealer markup', literally anything. Then there is state taxes and title on top of that.

Funny seeing some people claim they didnt pay a cent over MSRP, then go on to mentioned a couple thousand of made up dealer fee's they paid.

They are doing the same in Aus with new cars....new corvette some dealer fees are exceeding $20k pay it or lose your position in the line.

Called dealer today for a status check, supposed to be on the boat on 21 April, and their guesstimate is 6-8 weeks transport. They reckon its coming from US, I kinda assumed it was coming from Thailand to be honest.

A text from the US group. Atleast the dealer was upfront about markup, however ridiculous.

Annnnnd apparently they’re all delayed further, no landing dates being given now.
I’m told they’re built, crated but getting them in a ship is the problem.

Most Harley for the Oz market are assembled in Thailand now, they get shipped to Thailand as a box of bits and bolted together. They’ve done it for a while.
