Stage 1 tune

Hi,
I had a stage 1 done and the receipt says Install Muffler and tune key. I'm new to tuning but I was given a key and I'm a bit confused by what the USB does and where exactly on my bike it has been tuned. I would have assumed it would say 'bike tune' not tune key, as in tune usb key.
Thanks

What tuning device did they use? Power Vision can have keys, others as well I believe, basically the key lets you use the tuners device to tune your bike, that way you don't need to fork out for the unit, it will allow access to your bike for any tuner using that brand, the calibration that is in your bike is I believe also stored on the USB.

Not sure, the USB says sitel. I asked them where is the tuner and they said they just plug in. Like I said, I'm new to it so I was expecting some kind of device on the actual device but I guess it is all electronically done.
I'm sure it was done right I guess I was expecting a bit more from stage 1, can't really feel the power unlock if I'm honest.

Sitck the USB into a computer and see what files are on it. Won't be able to open them without the right program but the file headings may tell you what tuning device was used.

As an aside I've tuned a few stage 1 bikes and it is most definitely noticeable, just a stage 1 flash will improve things a little but setting the Cal up for your parts combo will make much better.

Hey,
No files come up, played around with it for awhile but obviously needs some special device to pick up the files. USB says Sentinel and on a white card attached it has a diagram with four colours (red, blue, purple and yellow).
Directlink / Flashtuner
HD - Delphi (Red)
HD - Marelli (Blue)
Victory (Purple)
Centurion / Diagnostic Key
Yellow
I'm assuming as my USB is red it is probably the top one but yeah, I guess I have no idea if it was done properly or not without taking it to another mechanic lol. I doubt they didn't do it properly but yeah, I'm struggling to see any major difference right now except the louder slip on pipes of course.

Mate, if you cannot notice any inmprovement except the exhaust note as you said, after work done and paid for .I'd be phoning or if close pop in and have a yarn, might be suprised what you
learn.Is
good fun watching your motorcycle grow to the way you would like it to head, just be prepared to pay for the enhancements.

Well now you know what device was used, TechnoResearch Centurion and DirectLink, very good stuff if used correctly, not that common over here either.

Stage 1 should be a night/day difference. Ideally you should do free flow exhaust and free flow air intake as well. more air in and more air out...

I am assuming this is a young/new M8 engined bike ? Can't see what model in any of the posts ?
On any twincam up to 2017 the stage 1 "upgrade" was immediately noticeable.
That is high flow air cleaner / freeflow not catalytic mufflers / stage one reflash or "download".
Perhaps you have not had one of these 3 ?
I had a guy bring a 2009 Crossbones to me the year before last that had had only noisy straight thru mufflers in all that time.
Compared to his old shovel head it ran smoothly and well , had never given him any grief. He had owned it from new !
We put a high flow air filter onto it with a K&N element , and I did a stage 1 reflash for "race exhaust and air filter" and he was ASTOUNDED at the immediate difference. Plus it ran cooler . and his fuel consumption was BETTER to boot.
