    Hi

Can anyone shed light regarding the following

      1.   the sump plug (well i assume it is as shown in the photo below ) and why HD don't say to remove this plug in lieu of the oil tank drain plug one ??. It would appear you would get a LOT more oil out of the sump plug V's the oil tank drain plug
      2.  do you drain the engine oil hot or cold
      3.  Has anyone had a twin cam crack sat 130,000 kms

The engines done 90,000 Kms and still goes well and perhaps (hope) that has had something to do with oil changes at 4,000 Km intervals

    I'd really appreciate  any advice

Anyway - Have a Winfield (that's still a great commercial with Paul Hogan in it when life was a lot simpler)

My 04 Nightrain, I have a vague memory that the sump plug was over on the side, with a do not remove on the middle plug, but I could be wrong

    1. That crankcase plug would only drain any residual oil sitting in your crankcase. Thats not where your oil is stored, which is the oil tank.

    2. Warm is best as it'll be quicker.

    3. Heaps of people, particularly early twincams with timken bottom ends. That stopped in 02 though.
