Sidetone

    Hi, I'm still battling the losing sidetone battle.
    My voice and road noise is so f&*king loud in my ears I can't hear anything else...
    No help from my local dealer even H-D Milwaukee asked me what sidetone is... sigh.
    It's driving me crazy I need to TURN IT OFF.
    Frustratingly it WAS off until my local dealer 'updated' it... thanks for that .... now it's f&^*ed.
    I'm looking through the EQ section under audio in the diagnostic section.. Heaps of BIN files, and a couple that are suspicious but I don't actually know what they're about..
    For eg
    00_OFF_OE_FLHT_4.bin
    00_ON_OE_FLHT_4.bin
    HS_ON.bin
    HS_OFF.bin
    Any geniuses out there, now's your moment!!

    Surely someone knows how to turn sidetone off... pleeeeeeaaaase. I mainly ride with the wife, 2 up, we like to cruise and talk...shot to pieces.

    Sorry for the implied bad language..so frustrated. Brand new bike, first service, gone bad. I should have kept the deluxe.

    Take it back to the wingnut that updated it and ask them to roll back the firmware/update to the prior stable version.

    yeah did that, but the sidetone stayed on. put the latest version on, still there. Surely the intention isn't to pump your own voice into your own ears at 100dB, FFS.

    Stu. Just a thought. Volume, phone, notifications, rings all have different volume controls. Adjusted when in play.

    Hey Steelo, yes that is true, but the sidetone volume seems constant regardless.
    I wonder if there's a way to turn rhe overall system volume down, which would hopefully reduce the ridiculously loud sidetone we all apparently need, then  ride the individual volumes for phone/coms/ nav/music etc to hopefully overpower my own voice and road noise gifted to me from f%^&ing sidetone.
    Seriously, wtf are they thinking..

    I use wired headset, not Harley. Don’t have the issue. 
    Do you have cb?
    What year and model bike. 
    Give me something to search on
    Have you got user guide for radio

    Hey Steelo, we're on s 2021 Ultra.its a boombox 6.5 GTS, current software is M22.20.28.00.

    The version  that upgraded from was
    M21.20.22.00
    I downloaded a manual, only refers to sidetone in one section under WHIM.
    There's nothing in there to address it apart from that
