Where did you get this from and what’s the plan with it? John Trease stuff would be pretty rare now

It was a bike (or bunch of parts) that was lined up and on the list to be built by TRE, but didnt make it.

I reckon I'll sell it. I thought it came with heads, but unfortunately, didn't (or the heads it came with are DEFINITELY not for this). Also thought it was an Evo setup, but turned out to be a shovel, which I dont really muck around with.

That's a really unique motor......never heard of a piston without a gudgeon, how does that work?

Aluminium or Teflon buttons that essentially rub the cylinder wall.

The reliefs cut into the pistons are pretty wild too.

Wow interesting design......thought i had seen it all after holding a NR750 oval piston with twin rods and 8 valves per piston.

Sorry I re read what I wrote. It has gudgeon pins but not the actual CLIPS or spiral lock setup. It just uses those buttons to fill out the extra space.

    Teflon buttons are common.

Guessing its a point of difference along with the zero risk of the clip coming adrift and scoring the bore.

I think they are VERY common in Drag engines as there is way less risk of dropping a circlip into the sump.  Esp when fast engine build turnaround is critical.
