Thanks binnsy, I got a reply from easyr and they told me that they don't do orders. While I was trying to reply to this post is got a reply from CNC Cycles in Melbourne and they said they can get it in for me. I am also looking into import duties and GST costs of buying direct from Mustang. From what I get, it should only be a extra 15% on the cost but I think I have to do it via a freight handler. Having said that, CNC prices seem to be very reasonable.

If you’ve already decided to buy a particular seat, look for it online and order in direct from the states. Look at eBay.

This takes out the middle man and it saves time and money. I’ve bought two mustang seats this way and saved lots.

I’d prefer to support Australian businesses where possible but not when it costs me hundreds of dollars for being an intermediary. I doubt you’d find an Australian business that keeps them in stock and even less chance of having one local to inspect, try etc

They’re good seats but vinyl like many are. I prefer leather for long rides as it breathes so better for your arse when already wearing motorcycle jeans/pants. I changed out to Corbin seats but they cost more

I'm worried about having to pay import duties on top of the basic costs. I sent an email to Mustang to see they include GST and import duties in the cost. Also, you can get Mustang seats made in leather if you ask, so the website says. I looked at Corbin a little, will have to look more. I think the Mustang Super Tripper (vinyl) will cost me $830 and from what I saw from CNC, they're not much more.

Desertcart  says their prices include import duties and GST but it's still a couple of hundred over what it costs from Mustang. I am really put off by the idea of having to she'll out a couple of hundred more when the seat turns up. I will have to hunt down ato advice on importing goods. Most US sites say GST and import duties are not included in the price.

    Thanks for the help.

A quick look on eBay has them starting at $580 aud delivered from the USA. Import duty/gst kick in at $1,000 I think and that’s on the value of the item and doesn’t include post cost. You’re not gonna be spending that much

Gidday RicB .. i have purchased 3 Mustang seats directly from the States .. 1 for my now gone 08  Softail , 1 for my 99 Springer , and one on my current 17 RGS .

All Fantastic improvements .. my only advice is research the different shipping companies as at this moment in time shipping cost are crazy .

Worth checking though but does Rollies in Brisbane import them .. he does with just about everything else these days .. just a thought .

    Cheers .

RicB, have you had a look on fleabay or facebook marketplace mate for a 2nd hand unit? I picked up a LePera Maverick touring seat for my 17 SGS for $450 - used once, love it.

Yeah, thanks guys. I will look around, might even try fleabay or maybe just buy it from Mustang direct if my non-taxable limit is $1000. I don't use social media so I won't be able to access that market (social media is the ultimate tracking tool).

Rollie's had a lot of Saddlemen's and I don't remember seeing any Mustang seats but I will look again.

You guys have been very helpful. Thanks again.
