Hi all, just bought a 2014 Streetglide 103Cu, upgrade from a 80Cu FXR. Lots of info. about Stage 1 upgrades, tuners etc on internet and other forums and some seem to need a lot of$$$ to complete the job. It has V& H slip ons and goes alright (only ridden it for a month). Just interested I suppose in peoples opinion on their preferred Stage 1 upgrades on similar bike/engine. Looking at either Big Sucker or V& H VO2 Naked and either SE Pro tuner or Fuelpak 3 and whether there is much advantage to adding the upgrades? Will bike run cooler as a result also?

did you see much performance upgrade and do you have to get it Dyno tuned each time you service it or is the tuner user friendly and you can set it up yourself?

V&H slip ons with quiet baffle, s/eagle ventilator with K&N filter running a power vision tuner. The cat has been gutted. Better than stock for sure but no rockership by any means. Have done nearly 80k on this combo. 2012 Street Glide

I have not had a dyno.  And not needed each time.

Arnie just FYI power vision allows you to do a Autotune when ever you want to. That new map is formulated as you go for your ride and then can be downloaded from the same tuner in the carpark for your ride home. With wideband sensors you can set it to Autotune and just ride it and it tunes on the run.

Looks like I need to read a bit more about tuners. Ill change out the air cleaner first and then go from there. Will look at comparisons with PV, SE pro and Fuelpak also. See some bits and pieces on Marketplace( Rinehart racing slip ons, SE pro tuners, SE Heavy breathers) so maybe get me a bargain. See some forums talk about O2 sensors and changing out to bigger ones, is that necessary/beneficial? See how I go

Arnie do a bit of reading about narrow band v wideband o2 sensors. Be careful about buying a secondhand tuner as most of them are "married" to the bike it came from , meaning either a seperate licence to the manufacturer or in some cases the waste of the cost of the unit.
As indicated i have a Power vision and they allow you to purchase a lic to unlock it or use it on a different bike.

Thanks Pauly for the heads up, definitely got a bit of research to do. See what questions I have next, once I ride around a bit more.

The 4.5 inch Rinehart slip ons have an awesome note, without drawing to much attention

Arnie just be careful if you start modding without a tuner. Generally the stock bikes are tuned very lean to pass ADR emission rules. Lean meaning more air and less fuel.....once you start to "free" things up with with less restrictive mufflers and potentially allowing even more air in via a performance a/cleaner your allowing more air into a motor that's currently got too much allowing for the possibility of a leaner mixture again. The results can be horrible with pinging, excessive heat, no power etc.

I would debate that moving from a classic Evo FXR to a twink is an upgrade!

    1.  Do you want to be able to tweak the tuner yourself or are you happy to let someone else do it all the time (may help decide what box to get)
    2.  Get a unit with a wideband O2 units as they are better for tuning as opposed to the on/off of the narrows
    3.  Look at getting a unit with an 'Auto-Tune' function where it will continuously keep improving the AFR's etc the more you ride.
