Gday FC, below is what the seller told me was correct for my 81 FXWG, my parts manual lists 3 different part numbers for the 80-84 models. One of the numbers my manual lists is what ole mate mentions below also.

Well spotted GM/ Stu, your correct, Hercus 9 model A, my father in law is a retired fitter/ turner, he reckons its a late 50’s model.
When you guys highlighted it (Hercus) lurking in the background, I had a flash back to my high school days of metal work classes. When teachers were old blokes who knew their stuff and were helpful and proud of the students who cut the cheese and succeeded.
