Hey members, I am a new member. I have a 2017 LRS with the 117 kit. I ride alot around Samford Valley, Dayboro etc. Hoping to connect with a few of you.

Looking for mod tips and general harley/shit chat.

I love my bike. Trying to make it a bit more torquey. I have the standard SE 117 kit, 10.1 comp etc.  Bassani RR3. I have recently upgraded the suspension to Legend front and rear. I have the Memphis Shades road warrior front fairing and screen. I will try and attach a few photos. All the best. Alex

Looking at doing a cam upgrade for a bit more torque over the 259 cam I currently have, possibly to a redshift 587 cam, changing the rubbish SE lifters at the same point. Keeping the compression the same. Any thoughts would be great - Alex.

Hi Alex and welcome to the forum. Very nice bike, good luck choosing a cam.
Keep in mind that with their scavenging nature the Basssnis might be pinching early torque, say up to 3000 rpm. Do you have an existing dyno chart to help target your area of concern?

    Hi Alex and welcome.

Nice ride you got. Be good to see some pics.

I found the 259e cam provided lots all over on the 117 kit. But if you want more down low, you’ll either need to up compression via head shave or domed piston, or else look at another cam. Check out wood 777 and 888 cams. Not a big change when you’re already changing the obligatory lifters and change to adjustable pushrods to get the right fit too

That redshift 587 cam might be good for the 9.2 compression 110 twin cam oem engine but at your increased compression it’s not gonna be suitable at all

Gidday Alex .. welcome , noticed you said you had upgraded the suspension front and rear to Freedom .. was curious as i know Freedom do an exhaust but was not aware of them doing suspensions .. is it the same company or someone different .

    Cheers .

Sorry TJU - ‘Legend’ suspension front and rear, I was inebriated  when I wrote that post.

I have Legend Axeo 49mm front suspension after my original forks shat themselves recently. Pitted forks and they were a little soft and spongy for my liking.

I have Legend Revo-A on the rear shocks. Looking at trying some new cams at the next service and am now considering raising the compression slightly, as well as lifters. Nothing crazy. I still want a reliable bike that I don’t want to spontaneously combust.

Gidday Alex .. all good .. that is the same as my setup on my 2017 Road Glide Special .. such a Huge difference from stock .

Good Luck with the motor upgrades , there is so much to choose from these days .. and really good idea about Not going to crazy with the compression , ya want to keep that ride-ability that`s for sure .

    Have fun .
