    There is a bit of hypothesizing about if someone did this or someone else did that, lets stick to what has actually happened.

    When the Corona first struck mortality was a possibility covering the community that had no other precedent, even the Spanish flu 100 years ago was not really comparable to today, today's mobile population is much more fluid than then.

    The governments federal and state responded in what they thought would be best for the people to what was emerging as a possible killer pandemic, there was initially no vaccination, and contagiousness was high, [i'm not going to get into a shit fight over who responded best or worst, that in itself is a hindsight] but I have yet to witness a government of any stripe that has deliberately exposed their population for reasons known only to them.

    Essentially Australia dodged a bullet by world standards, locking borders and supporting that lock down with legislation was one tool in the box, planned vaccination roll out was another [for every dose given there had to be the covering dose in stock, this made the rollout look stilted] mass inoculation and isolation also protected those that chose not to vaccinate by diminishing cases in the community.

    Tennis Australia should hang its head in shame for trying to undermine what was legislation that applied to all, the guy they bought in thought he was bigger than the country that he was visiting. So fuck him, his cancellation should still stand for the period determined, with a warning that a future transgression of any Australian law will result in permanent banning.

    Final thing, if a rule applies to me it applies to everyone no exceptions. If anyone thinks this virus has run its course, we may have to think again if it mutates.
