Guys,
I have just purchased a 2021 114 streetbob with 900km’s on it from MCAS in Sydney that arrives tomorrow up here on the NSW/QLD border.
The bike has Freedom big radius pipes and a maximus tuner , other than that it’s stock.
So I already have a screamin eagle filter element to swap out the paper one as I actually don’t have an issue with the look of the stock air cleaner box and a set of screamin eagle plug leads ( I think they are show show more than go ).
After I do the 1500km first service I am looking to install either the S&S 475C bolt in cam or a Woods WM8 22X-E cam so my questions would be ,
Do you think the stock air cleaner with a hi flow filter support the new cam enough to achieve all of performance gains available from the cam / exhaust / tuner ?
Has anyone installed the Wood WM8 22X-E cam ? I would hate to have issues with the valve train in the near future because the lift hammers the components .
TBH I really don’t abuse bikes at all I just like the rumble and having the torque and power when it’s required .
Any feedback will be much appreciated .

research components and "tune " ect with known knowledgable engine builders before parting with cash will be a good idea,a couple of well known engine builders/tuners on here.

I don't know a lot about the M8s and their cams.
I do know you want to fuck off that plastic throttlebody before you do any other work on it.

hi mate congrates on the new bike, i have a 2020 lowrider S which has the same engine as your streetbob, i had cams (screaming eagle power cam) i went with the SE cam because it was covered under warrenty and an S&S 2-1 exhaust along with a k&n air-filter element fitted (no probs with using the standard air box), it was dyno-tuned using a power vison tuner, from what i've read the S&S cam seems to perform a lot better than the reasonably tame SE one, one thing i noticed along with the extra power is that the exhaust was a lot louder which i don't mind

Hey mate, this comparison gives you an idea of what to expect from the cams you are looking at, that 114 loves a cam and a tune.
