Hey All, Due to personal reasons me 2006 Fatboy has become pretty neglected, Im after any advice on cleaning up the chrome work which seems pitted somewhat and Ive been using S100 on it which is workin but itll need a few more digs at yet, Ive been a fan of purple with me truck but out of the game for 7 years im unsure what everyones usin these days on bikes. Also the ignition nameplate is stuffed and being new on givin the bike a birthday myself was wondering who you use around Melbourne Sth East or even online stores you recommend. Thanks in advance.

Hi smooth. Welcome to the forum.
My 2003 Softtail was a project when I got it. Shame yours has deteriorated.
I managed to get a lot of corrosion off chrome with scrunched up alfoil and a lot of water. You need something that is harder than rust and softer than chrome.
On painted areas, alfoil or fine sandpaper, mask up with blue painters tape and a touch up with a rattle can or if only a small spot, Spray the paint into a plastic lid and use a fine brush or twisted (into a point) tissue.
Wheels are alloy on a Fatboy so some mild polish should be able to get you out of trouble.
Terminal bits, start looking on gt or online for replacements. Indy mechanics often carry bits left over from upgrades
Why don’t you post some pics of problem areas and maybe we can work through them
It’s your bike, it’s 15 years old, only you are going to judge it.
