Hi everyone, just new to the forum and looking for some advice. I have just imported my 2019 Fatboy 114S from USA after having it for 2 years. Im in the process of getting it ready for complaince and registration. the issue I have is with the rear turn signals. Being a US model they are a combination unit and serve as brake light, tail light and flash red when indicating. Does anyone know what is the best solution and what wiring mods are required? Any help would be appreciated.

You would need to change the turn signals from red to amber.  There should be a local version of the combination LED globe that they use.

That's what I would have expected. However, there is nothing available that I have seen so far.

It's a fairly recent model, have you contacted your local Harley dealer parts section?  They should be able to supply the Aus. versions of the turn signal globes.  Assuming your turn signals are still the OEM turn signals.

thanks for the response, yes, I have contacted the Local HD shop, They wernt much help. I also contacted a large HD shop from QLD, they were very helpfull. But there is no stock available until Feb next year. Which doesnt help me. I even contacted Probeam in USA who supply the LED replacement units. They do not have rear units with amber as part of there wares.

I would disconnect the "indicator' wire from the lights and install another set of lights just for turning.  So long as they are AU compliant then you should pass any AU reqyuirements.

Then in the new year once the ones from say yank land arrive I would swap back.

being a fatboy s i am assuming that you are looking for black indicators. if the fronts are not led then you only need an amber lens and a single filament bulb. I have a set of chrome leds for the rear that should plug straight in until you get black ones if you are in s.a. I changed mine on my street bob to black when i saw a pair come up. I have cut the wiring on the ones I have and rejoined them but pretty sure they still work. Not hard to check if your local just have to remove the seat.

The "Aussie" AKA International HDI bikes are all amber rear indicators.
Those from the same model sold here should plug right into your harness with minimal invasive cutting/joining (if any!).

Hi Retroman, Thanks for the response. Do you know this for sure, or is this an assumption?  The reason why I ask is because new replacement bullet OEM turn signals are approx. $326 each... And the HD shop were not exactly sure themselves. Therefore, it becomes a fairly big gamble.

Not 100% sure sorry , just an educated guess. I do a bit of work for the Perth importer/compliancer , but I have not seen an M8 engined bike come thru' there yet. The twincams even the models with the combined indicator/tailight/brakelight rear stalks all get complied OK.

I'm doing an ICV trike here in Qld and the requirement is they have to be "E" marked or a factory standard indicator off a production bike of any sort so you might be able to fit something that will suit your needs and as the correct part for your bike becomes available later on just fit it then.
The best bet is to discuss it with your fella doing the certificate they have all the answers as well as the all the keys to get it through
