Sounds like you know a thing or two about oil properties? Do you drain your oil hot or cold? ;)

    Well isn't that just a weird co-incidence?
I like to add Roundup to my oil in all 3 holes.

Viscosity is the resistance to flow of a fluid. Motor oil viscosity grades are based on a scale developed by the API (American Petroleum Institute) lubricant organization. The values are defined in a specification known as API 1509 and are based on the resistance the oil gives to flowing at two different temperatures – cold and high temperature. The measurement of viscosity at high and low temperatures are properties of multi-grade oils. Years ago, most vehicles used one viscosity grade oil in the summer and a different viscosity grade oil in the winter. But as motor oil technology advanced, additives such as viscosity index improvers allowed for the use of the same grade of oil year-round.
The low temperature viscosity of the oil is a measurement that simulates starting a car on a cold winter day. That value has the letter “W” after the number and has a dash after the W. For example, if the oil is a 5W-30, the 5W part describes the viscosity of the oil at low temperatures. The lower the number, the faster the oil will flow at vehicle start up.

Diesel engine oil has a higher spec than most motor engine oils and is mentioned in HD owner manuals as an option for temporary replacement. The manual also says NOT to use it in the primary or transmission.
I use VTwin engine oil in the engine, transmission oil in the transmission and Trick Shift in the primary.
    Does it really matter ?
Some give a fuck, some don't.

Nice bit of research info there dicko, but seems you have misinterpreted it.
The diagram is showing that you can use a thinner (lower viscosity) oil at lower engine temperatures and use a thicker (high viscosity) oil at higher temperatures.
This is because as oil becomes thinner at high temperatures, you don't want to run a thin oil in an engine that is known to run very hot - especially in summer - becomes too thin to provide good lubrication & can also breakdown & lose its slippery properties due to overheating.
If you are in a very cold climate with a stock engine you will want to run a thinner oil because the lower operating temps will thicken it bringing flow/lubrication into the sweet-spot.
PS - drain your oil hot  ; )

Just my opinion only. I pay a shit load of money to buy my bikes and I work bloody hard to earn that money. So when it comes to putting oil in my bike I am more than happy to spend a few extra dollars for the right recommended motorcycle oils to go into my motor, transmisson and primary to me it's cheap insurance. Anyway as I said my opinion only.

Bought small amount of oil yesterday, which cost $45 but reduced to $35. As is 'Extra Virgin', don't know wether to fuckit, drink it, or put it in ma bikes?  Nah, ya right FB cook withoil, Extra Virgin, mind boggles.
Penzoil still gets my vote, for price availability, and Aussie, but love saying the words 'Extra Virgin' 'Extra Virgin'
Yup, always do it wihile she's hot, thats the oil change of course!

Engine oil viscosity refers to how easily oil pours at a specified temperature. Thin oils have lower viscosity and pour more easily at low temperatures than thicker oils that have a higher viscosity. Thin oils reduce friction in engines and help engines start quickly during cold weather. I also leave it overnight so all the oil and all the shit is at the bottom of the pan ready to drain.
