    Bike as above....
    Question for touring bike riders.
Only ever had dunlops , 407 180/65B 16 .... cant get any dunlop tires, (and that includes the American Elite), for at least 8-10 weeks...
Got a fucking nail in the rear and need a replacement for the dunlop , (or dont ride over the Xmas period), cant have that !!!

So advice and info needed ....
Tires that I can get, and can replace the rear dunlop, (same size etc) , I've come down to three.
    1. Bridgestone.... 2. Metzeler... 3. Avon...
Ok then,, who's  got them, who's had them ,,, and whats you opinion !!!
    Cheers....

    tubeless, I assume
put  a plug in it and keep going
If the hole is in the wall, put a tube in it
Don't have to write a tyre off because of a puncture.

Thanks for the replies re plug or tube etc...
The rear has 15500 km on it. I usually change them at 18-20,000km. It's an excuse to change brands and give them ago , and I'll change the front to the same brand when its due. Been locked up for awhile , and no doubt put on 5,000km pretty quickly and could'nt be bothered changing rear again so quickly. Cheers.

Love my avons, ran them on my fatty and again on the streetglide. Good confidence in all road conditions,  only ever get 13-15k kms from tyres but happy with the feel. Currently running the newer cobra chromes with about 7k kms on them and still look great. Run pressures a bit higher as per Avons recommendations.

You don't have to pull a wheel off to plug it
15 mins at a servo and you're away
You've never had a tyre plugged before ?
Some guys carry their own kit for long trips, particularly if it's a fair hop between stops

I have used both the Metzeler Cruisetec and now the Bridgestone H50 which have both been great tyres, i haven't tried the Avon Cobra but have heard good reviews on them, In my opinion these are all good options that should be a step up from the standard Dunlops

Another vote for Avon Cobra, they are best gripping tyre of the lot and best in the wet
Mileage not as good as most others but more peace of mind in poor conditions
