Brno62 , go to your local eye care professional, a HD Dealer not the place to buy sunny's, that will give you the best vision in risky condition's.
They mostly just sell you an image (to look the part, not see clearer ) .
    good luck.

Thinking a transitions lenses could be the go for you. Bright light they go dark, low light they go clear, my last Bell full-face had a visor that did the same

    I agree.
Got a pair of Ugly Fish photochromic glasses that do the same thing.
Pretty good for any light conditions, plus they have those rubber bits behind the frames that stops wind an bugs blowing behind the lenses.

I use Ugly fish, yellow lense for night & overcast.
But mostly the dark lense.  I think they make the phototronic that adapt to diff light.
Good sunglass shops also have a full range. In the car i use Spotters that darken & lighten as needed

Go to the nearest place that sells sunglasses and try on every pair of POLARISED  sunglasses on the stand. The local servo should have some.
Buy the pair of  POLARISED  !!!  sunglasses that feel the most comfortable on your noggin. Dont look in the mirror.
Should cost you 30 or 40 bucks.  I have a pair that are almost 20 years old and they cost me 12 euros when I was on holiday in Spain.
Make sure they are polarised. Run of the mill safety glasses just dont cut it.

You do not need two pairs of glasses - how many do you want to carry?
I have prescription 'transitions' glasses - these are not a new technology (available for many, many years now).
The lenses are clear (un-tinted) in conditions of low sunlight. The lenses darken progressively to greatly reduce glare upon exposure to sunlight.
I wish I had had a dollar for each time I have pointed this out to people!

Nothing is going to stop the glare if you are riding directly into the sun late or early in the day.
A bit of black tape across top or bottom of visor can help.
Keep the visor in good condition and be careful of over cleaning it. Micro scratches will kill it as far as glare is concerned.
What ever glasses you have, they’ll work fine.
I did have my long distance prescription raybans made multi focal so I could see gauges as well as road ahead but they are still hopeless at reading a menu at the bakery / coffee shop. That’s when the pince nez come out.
    Keep everything clean.

If I could afford then, I’d buy a pair of Wileyx. (Actually I just checked online and they don’t seem so expensive)
I have a yellow lens pair of safety glasses for low light.

It you wear an open face helmet you will be fine. The issue I find with polarised and a full face helmet is the visor will add all weird colours to the road surface. It can often make it look like something has been spilt on the road.

Maui Jim make incredible sunglasses but so expensive, I only ever only use them in the car. Uggly Fish for the bike with the rubber / foam seal.

What are the Ugly Fish glasses with the foam seal like leachy?  Any chance of a pic?
I have tried a few pairs of " sealed "  safety glasses and they were fukin rubbish.
They nearly blew my eyeballs out  of my head.
I was gonna have a go at steelo with his "  Any cheap and nasty sunglasses will be fine " reply  but I held my tongue but not tonight !
If you want to get rid of the GLARE  cheap sunnies dont do it. Doesnt matter how dark they are .
POLARIZED  sunnies , cheap or expensive REDUCE THE FUKIN GLARE.
It is all connected to Albert Einsteins theory of relativity.

BB, go into a decent workwear store and the big ones usually have quite a range of safety glasses that you can try on. Some work for me and some don’t. I got Bolle brand safety glasses that fit perfectly and don’t let any wind in to my eyes. About $12-15 a pair from memory so I bought a few black pairs and a few clear pairs (they didn’t have the low light yellow/orange type in the bolle glasses that fit me). Those pairs will last me years. I don’t think they’re polarised but they do the job nicely and it’s very rare that I’m troubled by glare.
