Gidday all .. anyone here watch that guy from Victoria on you tube called The Harley Roadshow .. he is currently covering a bike build at one of the bike shops down there and one of the things the bike builder did was replace the Torque converter from a Softtail one to a Dyna one .

Please excuse my ignorance but the bike builder called it a Torque converter .. is that the same as a Compensater .. and what was the difference between a Dyna item and a Softail item .

    Just Curious .. Cheers .

Only time I have heard of torque converters is when dealing with bikes with an automatic gearbox like some Moto Guzzis from days gone by, also a certain Honda CB750 four from the 70's etc.

Thanks guys for reply's .. was not so much about the bloke and his show but more curious about whether there was some sort of difference between a Softail compensater and one from a Dyna .

    Cheers .

I don't watch those video's. But I'm just guessing what he was talking about, I know for a fact Softail's don't come with Torque converters, but they do have a counter balancer ( but you can't fit that to a Dyna as cases different ) He could have been talking about the Crank Sproket in the primary ( the type it uses. ) I would not worry too much about it!
