After watching the long in the tooth Geelong Cats getting smashed, poleaxed and very well and truly walloped last night by Melbourne I was expecting to see the Western Bulldogs suffer the same fate from the Port Adelaide Carnies tonight.
They have got a bit of digging to do Bloo to get out of this hole.

    please don't

    Yeah mate, I know.
My team got shitted on last night.
Really did not think Port would lose tonight.
The week off does not do anyone any favours.
    Condolences Bloo.
Makes for an interesting Grand final.

Blue I reckon if you were told before the season started that port would make the prelim, you’d be a pretty happy bloke

I reckon dogs and dees have been the best teams for most of the season so are deserving grand finalists. All the more deserving when they walloped their opponents in the prelims when it all counts

Interesting to see what the cats do now after throwing the kitchen sink into winning the flag this year. I reckon my hawks are closer to winning the flag right now than geelong and I’m not joking

    Quote from above.

It will be interesting, a lot of the players are ready for the old peoples home.
Reckon GFC are going to have a few years of re-building ahead of them. Hawthorn (the main enemy) booted out all the older guys a year or 2 ago and now have a young team who are keener than mustard. You could see that the way they just kept improving this year.
Beats me how they thought getting rid of Clarkson would be helpful to them. Impossible to replace him. Hope he gets the gig at Geelong after his year off.
On the other hand Geelong would benefit by putting Chris Scott out to pasture, he has an incredible record of making preliminary finals but the trophy cabinet is bare except for a flag in his first year which was gifted to him by a team that could have won without any coach.
Looking forward to the grand final hopefully it will be a close contest unlike both prelims.

Agree chris Scott has under achieved with the talent geelong has had. Also very disappointed hawks (Kennett) got rid of the master coach. I’m just glad he didn’t take the Collingwood job

Cheer up old mate, things could be worse. For instance getting whipped in the grand final by that much would be worse.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic there or not Bloo.
I remember that day in 2007 as being as good as it gets. My 43rd birthday and my team wins the first flag in living memory. They did win it in 1963 when I was born in Geelong hospital but try as I might I just cant fucken remember it.
Jeezuz they lost a few grand finals on the way there too. Hawthorn in the 89 grand final when Ablett kicked 11 goals for the losing team. Then a string of losses to the West coast drug snorters in the 90's. A thrashing by Carlton in the 94? maybe 95 GF.
This weeks AFL grand final hopefully will be a cracker. Any Melbourne supporter who remembers the last GF win must be polishing up the dentures and  wheelchair for the celebration party should they win.
