I put one on my old Deluxe and didn’t experience this problem. Send an email to Thundermax. They were pretty helpful. Thundermax is a great unit but. The guy who installed mine is in Tanunda. I live in Angaston. Let me know if I can help. Cheers

Mate, had thundermax, which I installed, on my 2006 1450 .. I loved it. It gave ME Parameters to play, it gave ME control on mapping and just being up close and intimate with my motorcycle. The crew responed asap re-us time to my queries, and I had a detailed print out and I err, wat do you call, ah laminated sheets of info. But it did teach me a great deal of motorcycle breathing than I new, and anything along those lines, is good fun, as wellas mind expanding, than a coffee while wait for tune.. But aye, its all in the mix..
Wat was the question again. They fun, not MrsB's knees, who was pretty cool when she read to us, with her legs opened, and......
